ELS v8 Lights don't have "glow"

Featured Replies

Hey guys, I have a problem with my ELS v8. The emergency lights on downloaded vehicles don't have any glow or bloom to them. I believe the issue has something to do with the visualsettings.dat file. It is a fresh install of GTA IV 10.0.7.0 with only ELS v8 and Simple Native Trainer 6.5 running (no ENB or other graphics mod). I had the same issue with all kinds of ENBs. I use OpenIV to import my cars. This happens on all the vehicles i've tried so far, but headlights and brakelights are unaffected. Here is some pictures to help describe the problem.

Any help or suggestions are highly appreciated, thanks guys.

I'm pretty sure the other person is using an ENB, or other graphic enhancing mod.

Yeah but even when not using an ENB the lights are definitely not supposed to look like mine. The rotators are just textures pasted on.

Because that's all ELS lights are...textures that light up. If you want a better bloom effect, then you need an "Enhanced Natural Bloom" mod, otherwise known as an ENB. The default game's lights will not be very bright.

Timecyc or visualsettings mods will work as well, and will not have as much of an impact on performance. I personally use this: '?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>>

Go to your .../common/data/visualsettings.dat and crank up the car.defaultlight.emissive.on value.

Don't go overboard! This image was taken with a value of about 16,000.

A setting of around 100-1000 will usually do it for you. The higher, the brighter. Note that the 4-direction bloom bias will persist without an ENB.
