HITMAN: AGENT 47 coming to PS4, XBOX ONE and PC 2015

Recommended Posts

Bit late for this news but in May 2014, IOI, the developers behind the Hitman franchise, posted its first proper news about the next Hitman game. They stated that the game would be much more open than any Hitman game yet, with the largest levels they have done. The image below shows the first concept art of the game, showing  a building in central Europe that can be explored in its entirety, and the building itself is larger than any level in Hitman Absolution, and that is just inside the building, not the whole level. Hopefully the game shapes up better than Absolution did as it was nowhere near as open as previous Hitman games.

Heres what IO said in their words.

Since we posted our open letter back in January, we’ve had our heads down working on our next Hitman game. So you’ll have noticed that we have been pretty quiet, but we wanted to give you a short update about a few things.

First up, we’ve seen a lot of people talking about what we might be bringing to E3 this year. We know the worst thing is to hope for something that doesn’t turn up; so we wanted to let you know that our next Hitman is going to be under wraps for a bit longer. We’re focusing all of our time and efforts into creating the best possible Hitman game. That’s our number one priority and we don’t want to divert valuable resources to show something before it’s ready.

The good news is we’re making great progress with building exotic and expansive locations for the new game. To give you an idea of what we’re aiming for, here’s the first piece of concept art from the game. This location is set in Central Europe and you’ll be able to explore the entire building you see in the image, inside and out. For a sense of scale, the building on its own is larger than any location in Hitman Absolution.

As we move through the year, we’ll have some details to share with you and we’ll keep you posted right here on the blog. We will only lift the lid on the game once we feel we’re ready to. In the meantime, we’ll continue to answer as many of your questions as we can both in the forums and on Twitter.

On a separate note, we were happy to see so many of you enjoying Hitman GO from our friends at Square Enix Montréal. They’re pretty close to announcing new details about upcoming updates for GO as well as the first details about their second Hitman game for smartphones and tablets, we’ve been playing it here at the studio and it’s a lot of fun. Anyway, we’ll let them be the ones to tell you about it, so stay tuned for a blog post from them soon.

Thanks for your dedication, let’s stay in touch.

With that much detail, the game is sure to be 50 GB+ and in that case, I'm not interested. I've already passed on Advanced Warfare and AC:U because of their gigantic setup sizes. Avid gamers like myself who are employed/have full-time jobs/have a professional life to take care of, don't have time to waste on such big files. It was fine up until Watchdogs, but this is just too much.

I might or might not get it. The last Hitman wasn't that great. Hope they spend more time on gameplay, rather than focusing on cutscene animations.

I really hope that they come back with the Blood Money style of missions.

Hope it's better than the last one.

It will be, as I said, this one level is far larger than any level in the last one. The game will be much more open, with levels that are completely open, unlike ABSOLUTIONS linear corridor levels. It seems they are going for gameplay rather than story, unlike ABSOLUTION. They also say they wont reveal much about the game until it is close to release, and they haven't actually said a release date, so it could be 2015 or 2016. I loved BM, Contracts and 2. In fact I've been playing the HD Trilogy the past few days now.

That's what you'll get with a lot of PS4/XBONE releases. I remember PS3 games being usually 6-12GB (Im DLing Saints Row 2 on my PS3 now and its 7-8GB), that's why I'll be buying physical copies for a lot of games due to these huge file sizes, although its not great for a lot of PC gamers who get their games off STEAM.

This ain't going nowhere. I like your optimism but only time will tell for me whether it's going to be better, doesn't matter whether it's a big series or not. I'm sorry but a person who hasn't even played it yet can't convince me to purchase the game we know so little about.

I suppose your right, only time will tell if IOI can make another good Hitman game, probably not a good idea to get my hopes up so soon.

Yup. Even SR3 was 9 GB. SR4 though was around 16, I think.

GTAV will probably have a huge file size, on PS3 you had to install 8GB onto PS3, plus 1-2GB of updates plus everything they're adding on PC/Next Gen

If its anything more than 18 GB, they can take their shit somewhere else. I'm not interested.

8GB + 3GB (Roughly) in updates + I'm guessing 5GB of extras (Vehicle Interiors, better gun models, new wildlife etc.) I'm guessing 12-16GB file size, maybe, it could be more
