OPEN IV issues after update to 2.2.0

Featured Replies

So i have yet again run into an issue regarding open IV after yet another update. i can open the program and can modify everything except when in comes to the vehicles. every time i try to navigate through the vehicles it just stops responding. i can go through all other folders inside the cdi images but vehicles absolutely does not work. has anyone been experiencing this issue since the update to 2.2.0? gta4 still runs fine and SPARK IV is now my primary until this issue can be resolved. if anyone knows how to fix please post.

Strange, I'm using the latest 2.2.0 with no issues (knock on wood).  I've been working on a few vehicles atm and have been in and out of the vehicles folder without issue.  I wonder if its one of those issues that can be fixed with a complete uninstall and reinstall of the program?  PC's can be extremely frustrating with these kinds of things.  If you think its a legitimate bug with the program I know OpenIV has a reporting process on their website.

Once you have it working, word of advice: Save yourself the headaches and block openIV from calling home to check for updates. I did it back in 1.6.1 and it still works like a charm.

This is NOT A GOOD advice.

Does OpenIV shows any errors? Are you sure that your file is not corrupted? Do you have backup to check this on an original IMG?

This is NOT A GOOD advice.

Go on.

Edit: This was an invitation to begin discussion.

I don't see the downsides that you would (since you're the author) but since I blocked it through firewall:

  • It has not stopped working due to an update.
  • It has not locked up and forced me to either update or not use it.
  • It has not gone through the series of problems that users who have been forced to update have experienced. >* (this thread) >* >* (you've replied to this)
