Increasing the range of which a custom car model loads.

Featured Replies

Greetings!

I've found a Ford Taurus model that I've become very fond of but I have one issue: the model won't load until I'm within 75-100 feet of it, outside that range all I see is the tyres, glow from the tail lights, and the people in it that are sitting on air.

I've tried increasing the view distance and such in game options, but it hasn't helped at all. Does anyone have any ideas on how I could increase the range of which the model loads? Thanks!

Go to common/data folder & find "visualSettings.dat" & edit those 2 lines.

# Lod distances for vehicles

car.lod.distance.high 40.00

car.lod.distance.low 80.00

The reason why the model is doing that it's because the author forgot to add the LOD2.

Unfortunately that didn't help, I think Sgt. Kanyo is right, I'm going to have to PM the author, but the model is locked! I hope he has access to it.
