You may have an old dsound.dll, did you get it from the LCPDFR installer?

Hm. Well, I don't think this is the problem, but to see if a folder is read-only, right click on it and click Properties. At the bottom should be a few check boxes; make sure none of them are checked. If this isn't it, then I'm stumped. Could you post LCPDFR.log, and any other logs you can find in your GTA folder?

so the read me should not be checked?because they are..

IF I RIGHT CLICK ON THE FOLDERS IN MY GTA FOLDER THE READ ME IS CHECKED.I CLICK TO TAKE READ ME OFF IT ASKS ME

DO YOU WANT TO APPLY THE CHANGES TO THIS FILE ONLY OR DO YOU WANT TO APPLY CHANGES TO SUB FOLDERS AS-WELL.I CLICK SUB FOLDERS AS WELL....APPLY AND THEN OK.I GO BACK AND ITS CHECKED AGAIN..
