Legal or not ?

Featured Replies

ok, there is a ped in GTAIV that while playing LCPDFR I always used to give a citation to for not wearing a crash helmet.

Now though I'm not so sure. Looks to me like he has an Afro wig on top of his crash helmet (see image). When I ask him to step of the motorcycle the wig is removed and droped to the floor with the sound effect of a crash helmet being dropped, and he then seems to have a short hair style.

So 2 questions really. Is he wearing a wig on top of his crash helmet ?

And secondly, is that legal ? If it isn't legal I will continue to issue citations to him. Pretty sure that's not legal in the UK, and allthough Liberty is not real I tend to use US / New York laws as a guide. So any guidance on the second part of the question would be good.

Yeah, that's Rockstars fault.

For peds to have helmets, it loads the very last hat for that ped as a heltmet when getting on a bike.

The game is setup to only allow peds with helmets to spawn on bikes. Of course, Rockstar must of forgotten to restrict him.

Hit hat looks like a giant wig with a hair band on under it. Guess it's a hat so the idea is if you run into him with a car, his wig flys off. Just like hats.

And of course it's gonna sound like a hat when it hits the ground. They all have the same, generic, sound for when hats hit the ground.

Pulled over the same guy a couple of times not too long ago and I asked myself that same question  I pull him over every time because, like Custo said, the game only allows peds with helmets to be spawned on bikes and I like to give citations for not wearing a helmet once in a while. However, I do sometimes see a second ped with no helmet on the back of a bike and it's not always the afro man.

Yep I am always pulling over passengers with no helmet. Also I get loads, and I do mean loads of peds riding without helmets. Will have to take note from now on how many differnet types of non helmet motorcyling peds I come across.

Also this has to be ilegal anyway whatever the reason so he is still gonna get pulled over by me :)

Yeah, I'm also pretty sure that the fact that he's wearing an afro wig for a helmet has to be illegal

It would laugh my ass off if I had to stop a motorcyclist wearing a wig for a helmet

Also, apparently there are more wig guys to be found in LC: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axhGQQJCu3c

Why Rockstar would put guys with wigs in the game is beyond me. Maybe to avoid discrimination complaints from the wig wearing community.

You guys are being mean to PEOPLE WHO HAS CANCER!!!!!

I'd regard that as them wearing a wig, and not a helmet, so I'd issue them a citation for not wearing a helmet.

Lol, well I only give them citations as well. But since I made this thread I have been keeping note of the different types of peds that ride without helmets. Not including the guy in the origional image I have linked them below.

They often appear in various different ways. Different hair, clothes etc but I have only counted the main type of ped and not the variations.

These guys are repeat offenders and as such if you come accross them I urge you to give them the maximum $100 fine.

offenders....

As far as I'm concerned he's not wearing a helmet. As stated above it's probably negligence on the part of Rockstar, as there's no reason for a motorcycle helmet to have hair and a headband. In any case, I pull him over when I catch him (I have a video with that guy in it running from me when I try to stop him and he crashes his bike... go figure). Not wearing a helmet is a safety violation in most U.S. states but there are exceptions. I lived in New Hampshire for about 19 years and there is no helmet law in that state. Travel one state north or south, and you'll get a ticket. Doesn't matter if you're from NH or not. Only thing that will be ignored is if you don't have insurance and you're in NH. You're not required to have it to drive into another state. I've seen people run from the police thinking the opposite. Sad, really.
