When people decide to place all of us in the same category as those in the video because that is all the media shows...its offensive. But at the same time we give ourselves this image by the things we do like this video for example.

Im not saying all black people are like this, im just saying its a proven statistic. Sadly the media always shows wrongdoing, or half the story of things. But thats what they do to get an interesting story - which is all they really care about.

I gotcha but sadly its not surprising that this is shown and the perspective that society has on us already is being lived up to more and more every time something like this happens.

Please back up this statistic with some evidence. If you are referring to the statistic that shows more black people being incarcerated then I think you are using that stat incorrectly. Just because they are incarcerated at a higher rate doesn't necessarily mean they commit more crimes, it just means they get caught more frequently. There could be plenty of crimes out there that are unreported or unsolved and we wouldn't know who committed those crimes.

Black people also make up a good amount of Americas crime rate, although this statistic can be somewhat justified by the amount of different races, cultures, etc in the US. Im pretty sure the statistic was 60% or something.

Yes, but that statistic still just reinforces the fact that they are caught more frequently, not that they commit more crimes. Although I disagree with the whole "indicates racial profiling" I don't believe that they cause the most crime (at least in certain areas). In areas where the population is majority black then you would expect black people to commit the majority of crime in that area because there are more of them there. However, and I don't have stats for this, I am willing to bet if someone looked at the statistics for people arrested in the county I lived in then they would see white people commit the most crimes because where I live is mostly white and very few minorities live there. So I think it is dependent on your location and what the population is made up of. If you have an overwhelmingly black population then it makes sense that they commit more crimes, same if you have an overwhelmingly white population but I don't think that their skin color has anything to do with the likely hood that they commit a crime.

Lol, no that is not what those statistic are saying. In fact the author of what every you are reading sounds like they are trying to make a case that black people are being targeted more often and that police are basically ignoring when white people commit crimes. I don't totally agree with that assessment but those stats just show that black people get caught more often.and that white people don't. Now there are several possibilities as too why black people are getting arrested more than white people but as far as I know there are no statistics that show why that is because it would be nearly impossible to investigate all the possible reasons for that.

Lol, yeah usually when someone says Springfield I automatically think of Illinois, but I know there is also one in Missouri too.
