Help with some game-crashing issues?

Featured Replies

Hey guys. I've been having some issues with my game crashing. I have wouters callouts and callouts+ plugins installed. I took a look at the lcpdfr.log file, but I don't really understand what it's saying about why the game is crashing. I just need help to resolve these problems so the game doesn't crash anymore. Also for a lot of callouts I get I will get dispatched the call, I hit [Y] (Yes) to accept the callout and then I get "Disregard " or "Crime Scene Cleared". This time I got "Disregard" after I hit [Y] to accept and then the game crashed after that. It never did that before. I installed wouters and callouts+ like two days ago if that helps. I'm sure you'll see everything in the log files that I'll attach, but I just need help to fix these errors causing the game to crash so it doesn't crash anymore.

Thanks guys for your time.

****Update****: I forgot to see what my average fps is, so I just ran fraps in game and with everything running I average anywhere from 15-20 fps. Let's say I call for an ambulance, firetruck, or backup for like a second it goes down to like 13 or 14 fps. I don't know if this stuff helps, but I just want to give all the information I can so that you can help me in the best way you can.

****Update2****: Here are some important PC specs too:

Type: Lenovo G780 17.3" Laptop

Processor: Core i7

Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 4000 and NVIDIA GeForce GT 635M

*(If you need anymore info PLEASE let me know and I will post it. I really need help with this stuff. Thanks!)*

****Update3****: So I was just playing and got this in the lcpdfr.log:

Some new errors. I did, however, hit the tilde key by accident instead of [1] to turn my wail siren off and then I got a message that lcpdfr encountered an error and to contact support or something like that. I've also noticed that I get the same call like two or three times in a row, which I know is probably not supposed to happen. Also in callouts+ the street race call never works either...

 Thanks!

I know this doesn't really help but your LCPDFR.log is very similar to mine.  Does your game normally crash during a pursuit while the police radio is calling out the street names? Im struggling myself with my game crashing frequently at the minute and I have tested it quite a lot now and it only ever seems to crash during some kind or pursuit when the police radio is calling out street names.

If you look at yours frequently the last lines of the log are "No audio found" for a street name (then i assume the log has stopped because your game has crashed).  Not sure if this is your problem (or mine for that matter) but like I said I have done quite a lot of testing with it now.

I went through and picked some of them out, again im not sure this is the problem but it doesn't seem like a coincidence to me.

My game never crashed while dispatch was saying the street names. Don't completely take my word for it (I'm no expert), but you may not have lcpdfr installed correctly. It's all I can really think of or maybe you have two of one audio file and lcpdfr doesn't know which one to read so the game crashes. In your GTAIV Folder>LCPDFR>Audio>PoliceScanner>Streets take a look and see if maybe there is anything unusual, but honestly I have no clue so don't take my word completely.

I think maybe the problem with mine is that something may not have installed correctly or something. I don't know, so I hope someone who really knows their LCPDFR stuff and game scripting comes on here and helps me out. I really need it...

Well I can see you have at least 1 plugin "Callouts+". Try getting rid of that for a while and see if the problem persists. If it continues, it's most likely one of the vehicle mods you're using. Try sticking to 1 vehicle, AI ELS turned "off" and make sure not to use any vehicle you're using now as it's most likely the problem. Try something from CJ24. I've never had one of his vehicles cause a crash for me. Hope this helps... Let me know if it doesn't.

I actually kind of fixed it up a bit. I deleted callouts+ and since I had all spark iv files in the gta 4 main directory, I moved all those files out of the directory and in the same folder that the gta 4 main folder is in. This seemed to make it run better.

Just remember anytime you mod the game, it'll cause memory leaks and the chance of the game becoming more instable is likely. So some advice when installing mods is to do it once at a time so you don't just put all in and increase instability
