Edit: Just replaced the dsound.dll with xlive. The game starts, but if I press Alt+p nothing happens

Now I patched the game and tried to update xlive,

but the tool said it's still out of date. dsound.dll still won't work.

GTA IV is running but there are no signs of any mod

Are you installing LCPDFR with automatic installation? With automatic installation theres always the newest asi loader. Why update xlive you can use dsound too.

I installed the mod with the automatic installer but the game crashes everytime I try to start it with dsound in the folder

yes, but when I press alt+p, nothing happens

are you running the game as admin? eg: Launchgtaiv.exe as admin ?

I have never got Xlive and Dsound.dll working together.

people are doing it, i just did it with another guy

That's because they were never meant to work together. It's why the diagnostics tool says there's something wrong -- you shouldn't be running both together in any circumstance.

I have no other mods, but I try to launch it as admin now
