Crash when using texture made in photoshop

Featured Replies

Hey Guys,

So I've recently started getting this super weird problem where I can download textures from LCPDFR and play with them no problem.  However, all of the recent skins I have made on photoshop now crash my game.  Is there some weird setting in photoshop I need to be looking for?  Does it have something to do with using a template then deleting that layer and merging the other layers?  I'm seriously confused.

When you finish making your texture, make sure you save it as the Photoshop file first, then save it as a .png file. If you are using sparkIV, use this video for help:

My only thought is that it was somehow imported into the game wrong. Could you provide screenshots of how you saved the files and how you imported them?

See that's the weird thing.  Ive been modding my game with custom skins for three or four years, know how to use Open IV and Spark back to front and am good with photoshop.  The only thing I can think is causing it is that when I open up photoshop I get a message about it having some sort of pixelation preview?  However, this is with the original download template for the DSF crown vic.

If the game is forcing a lower resolution, then it almost certainly a problem with the exportation of the texture. Ensure that you resolution isn't super high. I believe the max for IV is something stupid like 4000x4000, but you may have even higher!

I think that the resolution that the game uses is 2500x2500, or something very close to that. So if it is forcing a lower one, as previously said, it may be an issue with the format it is being exported.

Check to make sure you aren't saving it as an interlaced PNG or using any kind of compression algorithm.  That's all I can think of, not even sure if it makes any difference actually...
