DSF CVPI zmodeler help

Featured Replies

Hey, I've stumbled across a problem in zmodeler. I'm making a car using a dfs cvpi, and the car is mostly black, but the trim parts of the cvpi such as the grille and some of the front and rear bumper are colored a weird black that pops out a lot.

For example, on the real crown vic the both bumpers are the same color and material as the rest of the car:

While on the dsf cvpi the trim pops out against the black and it looks weird:

How can I fix this?

Try using a different DSF model, I'd recommend Cj24's. Or just remap the trim - go into polygon mode, select the trim polygons and detach. Then assign it to a different texture and if need be, remap it so it doesn't look weird.

That is Cj24's model, and should I try deleting the trim and then use the vertex tool to cover the gap?

That's not Cj's. It's either the one Tim98/Deco/Napoleon modified or it's the unmodified one by F5544. Cj24's one has a 3D grill on it. And no. All Crown Vics have trims. If you remove it, it'll look weird.

My bad I have both and forgot which one I was using, and I figured it out. I apply the paint3 material, which is the skin texture, to the trim so now its the same color as the rest of the car

You may also want to remap it to the "OTHER" box on the template so when there's a livery on the car, it doesn't mess up.
