Installing wft and wtd files

Featured Replies

So i need to install a vehicle. Iv got lcpdfr and els installed already. The vehicle comes with wft and wtd files. I understand that there are programs for this, but spark iv refuses to work on my pc and open iv sounds way to complicated for me.  And yes i have looked at the exisiting tutorials of both.  Let me put it this way, i am an utter idiot when it comes to installing mods.  So, how do i manually install the vehicle files?  I appreciate any assistance!

Regards,

Rag

You can't install cars manually since the WTD and WFT files are in an IMG, which can only be opened up with etiher SparkIV or OpenIV

If you want to me reply as soon as possible, then either quote or @CouthInk4  me as i'll be notified, a general reply will not notify me

got it working. Thanks

one more thing if the file is meant to take any els comp spot, then do i just rename it and then drag it over?

Just have to save SparkIV to your desktop don't just open it when downloading, it's a pain when your first starting out but you'll get used to it, if you get a vehicle you want to be driving around & it's name 'noose" just rename it to the slot you want, just leave the .wft or .wtd alone.

Don't forget, keep in mind which is which, because you would also need to make corresponding changes to handling.dat, vehicles.ide, and ELS settings.  For example, if you have a CVPI in the nstockade slot, and if you don't change the handling and vehicle data, it will sound, drive, and feel like a big truck.

ok. well i can i set it as say police3? or will that screw it up?

I do not recommend you put any modded cars in police3, police4, or policeb, and you could only use those in EFLC anyway.

Are you using EFLC? That has slots police3&4 and policeb(bike).

Why not??

Someone made them usable for GTAIV, as with pbus, towtruck etc... I use them and they work fine. Just have to modify the handling.ides and vehicle.ides
