Thoughts on these PC's for LCPDFR...?

Hey guys!

Thank you to all of those who helped with my last post! I've taken some of your advice and tried to find some better computers and would like to see what you guys think about these:

----------------------------------------------------------------------

[Option 1]

Computer: bit.ly/1rzMQcv

(iBUYPOWER ARC Series NE611FX)

Specs

  • Memory: 4GB DDR3 1600
  • Hard Drive: 1TB SATA II 7200RPM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA Geforce GT 610 1 GB
  • Power Suppy: 300W
  • Processor: AMD FX-4300 3.8GHz

Possible Upgrades:

  • 600W?/500W? Power Supply
  • 4GB Extra Stick of RAM

----------------------------------------------------------------------

[Option 2]

Computer: bit.ly/1mjAC3Y

(CyberpowerPC Gamer Ultra 2140)

Specs:

  • Memory: 8GB DDR3 1333
  • Hard Drive: 500GB SATAII 7200RPM
  • Graphics: Nvidia Geforce GT 610 1GB
  • Power Supply: 500W
  • Processor: AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz

Possible Upgrades:

  • 1TB SATAII 7200RPM

----------------------------------------------------------------------

So basically to sum it up, Option 1 has a 1TB Hard Drive, but lacks the right PSU wattage (as I have read in the reviews) and lacks the 8GB of ram.

While Option 2 has the 8GB of Ram and the 500W PSU, but lacks the 1TB Hard Drive.

I did some searching and found that both Option 1 and Option 2 with the upgrades would be around the same price. (I think...?)

What I think would be better is to just get Option 2 and get the 1TB Hard Drive Upgrade...but what do you guys think?

  • Do I need the 1TB of Hard Drive to play LCPDFR?
  • Are these computers even good at all?
  • Is the "Nvidia Geforce GT 610 1GB" a good graphics card for LCPDFR?
  • Will either processor on Option 1 and Option 2 work well?

Sorry for all the questions, I'm still trying to understand how all of this works.. (I'm a Newbie).. :geek:

Any help would be greatly appreciated.. let me know if you need any more information!

Thanks again!

Even thought a PS will probably never use 600 W is nice to know you have that at your disposal so IMO I would go with a 600 W PS just in case you want a better video card like a 760 or 770 and up and also you should be fine with 8 GB of RAM anything more than that would probably be overkill and the 1 TB Hard Drive if you plan on doing more than just gaming and playing other games beside LCPDFR then that would be a good choice imo I will end up getting some SSD's shortly because my 1 TB is coming kind of close to filling up...I think my only gripe is with your video card im not sure what your budget is for a Video card but for a little over a 100 bucks you could get a 650 TI and be set.

Okay do you think if I get a 650 TI I would need the 600W PS? Thanks! :D

Says 450 W but im sure it won't even use that much but if you want to be safe and you might end upgrading your GPU... a 600 W would be safe.

Alright thanks, so you think if I upgrade the graphics and PSU everything else will be good? What kind of settings do you think I'd be able to play in?

Thanks again!

Its actually 450W but either way 600 W for safety and also 650 TI uses PCI Express 3.0 and I have no clue if AMD Motheboards use PCI but if they don't you might have to look into a ASUS Motherboard and as far as settings probably mostly on High commandline's help with that too so I would assume mostly all High's but if you're using ENB's and HD Textures and stuff you might still be on all High's but im not completely sure

Actually even if the Motherboard has a PCI Express 2.0 and the card has a 3.0 the card can still be connected to it....I forgot to mention that and it will still perform the same

[Option 1]

Terrible, you should be more worried about your graphics card than your RAM. That being said, the weak CPU is going to bottleneck the performance anyway.

[Option 2]

Slightly less terrible, but still bad. You need to stop worrying about "upgrades" that don't have anything to do with performance. Your concern is processing power and graphical power, or lack thereof, rather. Hard drive space won't help you. It's only going to allow you to install more games that won't run properly.

Make your budget a minimum of $800.

Okay, thanks for your help! If I were able to make my budget around that price, do you have a certain computer that you would suggest or a "list" of items that I could (try) to build? :P

Thanks again for your help! Really appreciate it.

Edit: I looked on your thread about how to build a good PC (with your recommended items) but from what I saw that's if you have a budget at around $2,000. :P

I'd go part picking on Newegg. And those weren't recommended items, they were the top items available at the time.

What do you think of these items for LCPDFR?  http://pcpartpicker.com/p/9WHLyc

Thanks
