DeputyJake got a reaction from Dippa in Website running VERY slowSame for me. Takes around 2.5 minutes to load images and I often can't even access the site sometimes. Thanks Cyan for looking into it!

I created a petition against the closing of OpenIV to TTI, and R* Games:
"For 10 years now the Grand Theft Auto series has been edited and modded by people to make the game more enjoyable. Hundreds if not thousands of people have bought one or all of Grand Theft Auto: SA, Grand Theft Auto IV, and Grand Theft Auto V. The modding of these games have been done mostly in singleplayer and with the help of OpenIV, a software that lets you get into the game's files and replace vehicles, scripts, textures, etc. The closing of OpenIV leaves 1000s of people without access to be able to mod their games, and leaves 1000s of people without the ability to continue their hobbies. All modding used by OpenIV is for singleplayer use only to make the game more enjoyable, the software OpenIV was never used to mod multiplayer or Grand Theft Auto Online so it does not harm anyone. Myself, and other members of the LSPDFR and GTA modding community ask that OpenIV be allowed to continue distributing and running as a modding software. Thank you."

Hey Everybody!
My Game crashed a few times every 10 minutes before i've got the solution from User OfficeBurningBowl:
Do:
You need to turn the AI_SP = On to OFF
Same for AI_MP = On to OFF
Its in the els8 ELS.ini
A lot of people are having this problem.
... and your game will run very very good - no crashes!!!! :)
-
Thank you for giving me credit. :)
It's not a fix for everyone. Just the users who's games are crashing on startup, loading saved games, or instant crashes when using els8.
Use the above as a last resort solution. A lot of people like to have AI ELS active for the added realism. So if you can have AI ELS on with no crashes, then keep them on. If you don't use multiplayer (like me), or use xlivess then turn AI_MP off anyway seeing as you don't go online.

DeputyJake reacted to Will in The Final Countdown - LSPDFR Trailer 2I'm guessing just experience. LCPDFR started out as just a way to have a cop skin and call for backup, and evolved into what it is now. LSPDFR doesn't have to go through that process since Sam (kind of) knows what he's doing now.
-
DeputyJake reacted to Sam in The Final Countdown - LSPDFR Trailer 2The second and final trailer for the highly anticipated sequel to LCPDFR has just been released, showcasing a number of features which have made it into the first public release of LSPDFR, including traffic stops, arrests, pursuits and of course, drinking coffee!
Although feedback to the debut trailer for LSPDFR was, for the most part, quite overwhelmingly positive, we did understand the disappointment shown by some at the perceived lack of features. Of course, our main priority then was to break our silence on LSPDFR and treat everyone to a very early preview. Now, with many tireless days and nights of development under our belts, we present a more in-depth taste of things to come.
Stay tuned for more updates on LSPDFR as development comes to an end and the first public release fast approaches.
There's also an alternative Vimeo version available for anyone having issues with YouTube: https://vimeo.com/129257919

DeputyJake reacted to CryptEclipse in LCPDFR is CrashingThe system dependencies doesn't matter since you deleted the 2 files. It also said in the log the AdvancedHook found a crash but wasn't LCPDFR related. Was the Tahoe the car that didn't work last time(the 2nd car you imported)? If it is then that's the problem. Also the Log check sounds a like a little problem. Did you test out your game? If you didn't, make sure you do and then run the LCPDFR scan again
-
DeputyJake reacted to CryptEclipse in LCPDFR is CrashingNo don't delete those 2 files and it's not because we deleted the others. You most definitely need those for mods. But, did you check to see if that car was stable at all. Your game should run smoothly without have to not load anymore. So what I want you to do is to uninstall LCPDFR and re-install it (make sure you don't have those 2 files in like I told you and turn off the saving in the config), and put the vehicles back in. Or at least which ones you know is stable. The ELS is flashing really fast because if you go into the ELS configuration setting in your directory, you should be able to fix that problem. But after you re-install LCPDFR, run the diagnostics tool, then show me a picture of what it says if there's an error
-
DeputyJake reacted to CryptEclipse in LCPDFR is CrashingYeah my bad. it's not a .dll but a .asi which is the one you need to delete (AdvancedHookInit.asi and its text document need to be deleted) Also when you go into the GTA IV properties, go to security and make sure yourself is able to edit everything which I'm thinking may fix the read only problem. But once you delete the files I said, test your game out and you should be able to play for a longer time
-
DeputyJake reacted to CryptEclipse in LCPDFR is CrashingSo reading the whole log book in the spoiler got me to notice that there was a few errors/ invalid files, audio, and the network problem. Honestly I don't think that those things matter enough to crash your game but if you're using ELS v8.0 or 8.5, there's gonna be this file named "AdvancedHookInit.dll" and basically you want to delete that. Also if you put in a ENB and customized it before you played, then that could be the issue. Because I know that if you have a 970 then you're going to want to play with an ENB. And just be sure that you turn of the "Saving" in the LCPDFR config because there was a bunch of spam in the log for that.

DeputyJake reacted to Cyan in GTA IV Steam or Disc?Doesn't make any difference. I would recommend Steam for convinence, though.

DeputyJake reacted to cpalmer41 in Final Computer BuildThere both good man. Its up to personal preferance at this point. I like both evga and corsair ... id prob do corsair.

DeputyJake reacted to Bueno in LSPDFR Announcement + PreviewFor anyone wanting a release date, expect it within the next 5 years.
-
DeputyJake reacted toDeactivated Memberin LSPDFR Announcement + PreviewOh man, this is going to be great. I'm glad that Rockstar finally pulled their heads out of their _____ and made a working port. I'd still be using LCPDFR at this point if it weren't for GTA IV's half-assed PC port. I can only imagine the possibilities there are going to be with V. I'd like to see the old voice commands from LCPDFR so I can spam the voice lines of the deputy sheriff. I'm pointing to my LCPDFR member title if you get where I'm going.

DeputyJake reacted toDeactivated Memberin Final Computer BuildActually, I just built this:

The processor you wanted and just under $1200 after rebates, etc. However, the one above works too.

DeputyJake reacted to BrandonSpendlove in Final Computer Build+1 for cp,
the MSI Z97 Gaming 5 is a great motherboard, and 7 imho would only be an advantage for using more of the sata ports. The BIOS has an auto overclock called geniue something like that. The Z97 Gaming 7 has an overclock button on the motherboard itself, not worth the extra money. Other features are on the Gaming 7 but not very necessary if you are gaming.
The 4790K is PERFECTLY capable of games you'd play, and even in the future. New released games show not "much" benefit from having 2 extra cores, and some benchmarks even show on some games that they can get confused and actually decrease performance if you have 8+. Not many games suffer from this, so if you were to go X99, you'd get a few FPS but you can also take advantage over the extra cores for other things!
I personally would go with theninja35's build if your budget is to be just below $1200.
In a few months, AMD should be releasing the 300 series which seem pleasing but only leaks so far. Around September, leaks show that Intel will be releasing the Broadwell desktop CPU's which show not much performance over Haswell, although made specifically for power consumption.
but seriously, I'd go with the X99 build... and then maybe upgrade the 970 when Pascal comes out.. ;)
-
DeputyJake reacted to cpalmer41 in Final Computer BuildThe z97 gaming 5 is a more modern updated board so id suggest that one. The 4790k will do good for future gaming, its what i have and plan to use until itll no longer play the games i want. Theres always gonna be a new cpu or gpu coming out thats gonna be better, thats just the way the computer world is. You think you have the best processor out and then 3 weeks later theirs a newer faster one. Besides the 4790k isnt really that old. I have buddies still using the i7 920 and my brothers gaming with the 3770k with no problems.
-
DeputyJake reacted to BrandonSpendlove in Final Computer BuildYes, if you are going to take advantage with the Hyper Threading on the i7.
-
DeputyJake reacted to cpalmer41 in Final Computer BuildIf your gonna go the i7 4790k route then id suggest upgrading the motherboard to MSI's gaming series. Maybe a gaming 5 or 7 if you can afford it. The memory you already have will work fine.
-
DeputyJake reacted to FRGamer in Final Computer BuildHope you enjoy using it!
-
DeputyJake reacted to BrandonSpendlove in Final Computer BuildAwesome, as theninja stated:
You'd need to upgrade the motherboard to X99 which includes having to pick DDR4 RAM as DDR3 isn't compatible with the X99 Platform. I've had bad experience with the CX series with Corsair, had to send back a CX600M and send it back AGAIN because it packed up on me, resulting in getting the RM850.
Although the X99 Motherboard and DDR4 RAM might go over your budget (or might not) then I'd suggest going Z97, and if you really do want the i7, grab the 4790K. If all you are doing is gaming, I'd suggest getting the i5-4690K and buying a small SSD to put your OS on and maybe a few of your favorite games. The 970 is a perfect-capable GPU for gaming at 1080P and some games at 1440P (not all!).
I bought the MSI 970 and if Direct X 12 does stack GPU VRAM then I'm getting another one when I feel like I need a tiny bit more power! :P

DeputyJake reacted to cpalmer41 in Final Computer BuildNo, you dont need a full modular psu. It just helps with cable management and looks. Msi and asus are both good boards just make sure the cpu socket is right. I suggest doing some research if you plan on building your computer yourself bc it can be royally screwed up if you dont know what your doing. Good thing you posted your parts here bc you could have purchased the wrong board and ruined the cpu pins trying to get the cpu into the socket.
