Downloaded Virus with Mods.

I struggled to find the correct place to post this. Basically it's probably not even a virus but my web browser (Google chrome) is taken over by Bing search bars and highlighted words on the page that when you click on them result in dodgy tabs opening .How do I get rid of this. I can't find anything weird in my programs or my web browser extensions.

Then these promotional windows open the odd time i just click on a web browser, coming up automatically?

Run a complete virus scan with whatever anti-virus you have. IF it brings up any issues, quarantine/delete them. If it doesn't, go to your google chrome settings, find the default pages section and see what it is set to load by default. Reset it to only load google by default (as your homepage).

Then go to your control panel (windows) and go through your applications, if there is anything you don't understand why it's there (and it doesn't clarify in it's description) uninstall it.

Then run a virus scan again to be sure and reload google chrome.

I ran McFee Scan and nothing came up, Google is the default and I deleted all the dodgy programs, This bing toolbar comes up sometimes too like I can't seem to find any trace of it anywhere.

Check your extensions for google chrome as well see if there is anything there. Be extra sure that there is no extra pages being told to open by chrome, you can have it open more than one by default so google may not be the default entirely.

Extensions are all good, It only happens the odd time on various pages

I find this page to be worse for viruses, sometimes I get the error not safe to be displayed by Microsoft.

Doesn't seem like a virus. You probably got it from a program that you downloaded and it's glitching out. When installing programs from 3rd parties, be sure to decline all offers and uncheck all boxes unrelated to your downloads. And it looks like the ads are gone, do you have an ad blocking add on? Or a program? Also, try re-installing Chrome. If that doesn't work, I don't really know what it is :/

It looks like its a toolbar that got installed. Trying looking through internet options for Search Engines, or ToolBars, anything Bing related.

if it is a toolbar he must unistall it from the computer

go to my computer and find this http://prntscr.com/3wn4p1 ( i dont know how it calls it in england language i got my pc in greek to be able to use it easier)

it should open this in windows 8 http://prntscr.com/3wn4z6 or in older windows versions should open something looking almost the same with this

now find if there really is a toolbar or any other idiotic programm that u downloaded with something else u wanted and click on it and then click to delete it

i cant help further with this but u should be able to find it and do that
