Need a badass Graphics Card

Featured Replies

I got $500 Amazon card for my birthday (in 2 days aka 15 December), trying to get the GTX 550 Ti but it's not shipped to my country, any alternatives? Looking for below $250 so I can save up for something else. ^^

EDIT:

Currently having 560 Ti in mind but I don't think my processor can keep up.

Will be buying this PSU too:

I bought an AMD Radeon HD 6850, for me It's fine (I also have 500 watts). If you really want a badass graphics card, I should go for the HD 6950/6970

But If you more like Nvidia, I should go for the GTX 560/570/580. Check them on the Nvidia website for the system requirements.

Check it out.

I have a GTX 570 since its release and it runs GTA absolutely fine.

Ok thanks.

I run GTA IV at 30 unstable FPS with my GTX580, and everything on my system is very high-end, and I run GTA IV on very high (funnily enough, if I switch it to low it's still 'stuck' at 30 FPS, no v-sync). It really depends on your system and your luck, unfortunately.

Nvidia prices:

FX5600 $2,999

FX 4600: $1,999

@Jacob: Absolutely right. My father is a graphical designer and I used to have a Quadro FX in my pc. I can confirm Jacob's post that these are not meant for gaming.

GTA IV would barely run with a Quadro.

I replaced it with a Geforce GTS450 and had way better results with that card than an much more expensive Quadro FX.

"Dura lex, sed lex"

They're also for CAD stuff and CUDA, I think. Regardless, they are meant for serious business (hence the price). Kinda like Tesla.
