Basically, what happens is that I get a message in the corner of my screen that LCPDFR has crashed, and that I should restart my game to avoid unexpected behavior. I can continue playing GTA IV just fine, but many elements of LCPDFR is just plain broken. Radio messages (top right corner) never fades away, my wanted level rises like vanilla GTA etc. etc.

All vehicles are vanilla, so is all weaponry, uniforms etc.

No means to hijack your thread, but i'm having the same error message since 1.0c in the top left corner saying LCPDFR has crashed. So before creating a new thread i hope someone can help you/us out with this.

Same here of what Chef said but I am also getting the same error but its weird but mine says it stopped working but I am not sure but I still get world events and even maybe callouts.

My Specs:

 

OS = Windows 7 Home Premium with SP1

CPU = AMD FX 4300 @ 3.80Ghz

MoBoard = GA-78LMT-USB3

Graphics Card = NVIDIA Geforce GT 640 SC/OC 2gig

8 gigs of RAM

Basically, what happens is that I get a message in the corner of my screen that LCPDFR has crashed, and that I should restart my game to avoid unexpected behavior. I can continue playing GTA IV just fine, but many elements of LCPDFR is just plain broken. Radio messages (top right corner) never fades away, my wanted level rises like vanilla GTA etc. etc.

All vehicles are vanilla, so is all weaponry, uniforms etc.

 

No means to hijack your thread, but i'm having the same error message since 1.0c in the top left corner saying LCPDFR has crashed. So before creating a new thread i hope someone can help you/us out with this.

 

Same here of what Chef said but I am also getting the same error but its weird but mine says it stopped working but I am not sure but I still get world events and even maybe callouts.

 

 

I've quoted you all so you all get notified, but for future reference it would be much more helpful for me if you waited for a solution or made your own threads. it makes it a lot easier for me to reply to people individually and keep track of who has what issue you see :)

It also means I don't have to quote 3+ people each time I reply lol.

 

Anyway, the issue is that the object (whatever it may be, car or ped etc) being used in the ambient scenario is suddenly no longer available to the script (it may have been deleted or unloaded for example) as a result that particular instance is crashing. The game as you have noticed doesn't crash, only that small portion of the entire script crashes. However this causes other sections to fault which is why you have the problem with becoming wanted etc.

You can try adding "PreloadAllModels=True" to the config file to see if it works, however I'm not sure on a definite fix for this issue right now as I haven't tested it enough :)

But if we are all having the SAME problem, it's much easier for the user and the admin to have the same error grouped in 1 topic, other then having 13 topics about the same issue i guess. That's why i rather follow this topic in the hope that FlipFlup gets help that concerns all of us.

Which is why I said "or wait for a solution" because posting "I have the same issue" is not contributing very much. I'm sure many other people are also having a similar issue but they're waiting to see what solutions are proposed to try and fix it. That was more my point really :)

Thank you very much for the response! I went ahead and changed the configuration file, however the issue seems to remain. The error in the LCPDFR.log doesn't look like the exact same, but it really is like a foreign language to me, so I better leave analyzing it so somebody who knows what they're doing. It's the exact same error showing in the corner ingame. I can't seem to find any relation between the crashes. I just used a taser, prior the the bit of the log I posted, but I didn't do that in the case I was referring to in the initial post.

I'll have to do more testing to see if I can pinpoint the issue and find a temporary fix for it. Although this is probably one for the developers to look into. I'll keep you posted as and when I find something.

Anyway, the issue is that the object (whatever it may be, car or ped etc) being used in the ambient scenario is suddenly no longer available to the script (it may have been deleted or unloaded for example) as a result that particular instance is crashing. The game as you have noticed doesn't crash, only that small portion of the entire script crashes. However this causes other sections to fault which is why you have the problem with becoming wanted etc.

You can try adding "PreloadAllModels=True" to the config file to see if it works, however I'm not sure on a definite fix for this issue right now as I haven't tested it enough :)

 

Yeah I will try changing "PreloadAllModels from False to True" using the LCPDFR Config Tool but in the mean time, since the mod was just released we don't really know what kind of problems or issues we may run into, even if its a crash for the mod itself or even if the game crashes, I actually did not want to use it at first because it said changing the Preloading may cause a vehicle spawning issue if that's what I read in the manual.
