How to make ELS Lighting move with the doors

I've searched everywhere and cannot find and figure out how to get my els light to move with the door.

 

Example: mirror lights. If you put the light in the door in the hierarchy, the lights remain constantly on. Anybody know how to add mirror lights or getting the light to move with the door?

ok say  your putting a light on the front driver door. your would have to put extra_1 and the L0,L1 for it (or what ever extra your using) in the door hierarchy. now the extra will only be able to be used for lighting on that door because when you open the door all the emissive connected to extra_1 will move

I kinda get what your saying, but can you simplify it a bit more?

But if the lightbar has extra_x and when you go to export it, it says you have a duplicate. The whelen ion worked but adding a lightbar I get this error.

Then you aren't attaching your extras, In this case you would need to designate an extra to be on the doors. Ex. Extra_1 and Extra_4 are your lightbar extras, while Extra_2 and Extra_3 are mirror light extras.

I did that for just the mirror lights and it worked. What do you do with the light bar extra_x & extra_x that are used for the door lights? If you put lights on the other door your still going to get duplicate instances of "x"

Alright, basically you can't have them on both the door and the bar so you are gonna have to pick. If you want to just attach the, for example if you are using 2 & 3 for the doors, 2 & 3 on the bar to the 1 & 4 on the bar and set that up that way. I also believe you can, I can't remember correctly, make the 7,8,&9 somewhat primary or even make the extra 2 & 4 = 5&6 and then use the headlights and indicators for your wig wags. Now for the two door situation just take 2 and put it on the left door and use 3 on the right door.

I understand ripplytiger151. Maybe for ELS 8.1 or even 9.0 adding more extra_x's so you don't have to split up any extra_x's.

 

You'd have to convince Rockstar to add more extras to the game.

 

ELS didn't create the extras, it just uses them for lights. The extras were originally coded into the game by Rockstar to have different variations of the vehicles, convertable / hard top / hood with an air scoop, etc.

That was certainly true when ELS used the extras system the normal way (adding/removing extras) [and, incidentally, issues like this are probably *why* adding and removing extras makes the car reset all damage, and why the things that led to god mode and door flapping were originally put in IV]. However, I'm not sure it's still necessarily the case. As of version 8.0, ELS works by turning on and off rendering of the extras; I'm not sure how it works internally, but it may be possible to extend *that* to non-extra parts.
