Tackle a suspect

Featured Replies

Download bravehearts policing script. There is a feature for that

Not trying to be a d**k, but he did mention for it to be incorporated within LCPDFR itself.

Anyway, not to totally strike down the idea, it would be hard for that sort of animation, and also, a lot of people seem to get at the realism aspect of things, but GTA IV is just a game. Real cops don't shoot at a suspect's legs unless they are super dangerous. Myself and others, on the other hand, want to save the time of running in a virtual game and wasting time chasing after someone. Although it's a nice idea, like I said in the previous request, the development team get offered lots of new ideas, but they have to pick the best of the best.

SCNG FTW!!

Nice idea but actually has been suggested a few times before.

The development team tried to add such a feature and it didn't work very well, was buggy and the animations were quite bad. They since strived to not incorporate the feature because it didn't really work.

There is only so much you can do with the GTA IV animations.

EDIT: I found the previous topic on this. This was Sam's reply.

As far as tackling goes, we gave it a shot a while back and it just didn't seem like it would ever get anywhere.  The best we could really do was put the player into ragdoll and launch him into the target, it worked maybe 3 times out of 10.

Something like this wouldn't be possible with animation editing either I don't think.  It would require motion capture of people being tackled from different angles, something which we can't do.
