LCPDFR 1.0b ALT + P not responding

I've just downloaded GTA IV on steam, logged into everything, and got the game running perfectly on my PC Windows 8, 64-bit, ASUS Q550, 8 gb RAM, 1tb mem computer.

I then used the automatic installer for LCPDFR 1.0b. In my OS, under steamapps<common, all of the necessary files/documents are there, including multiple items with LCPDFR in the title itself, however, when I run the game, ALT + P does nothing, and neither does hitting the "`" key...not even the green text stuff comes up.

I've tried alot of things, such as uninstalling LCPDFR and reinstalling it. I've ran steam as an Admin and still nothing. I have absolutly no idea why it continues to not work for me, and I have no idea what to do in order to fix this problem.

I also have no idea how to post any sort of log images. No where in my folders is there any logs, and when I go into the LCPDFR folder, and run the diagnotics, It just says: 'Critical Error: 0x1"

So I apologize for that. I've looked around on the forums for hours, i've installed different files, and have tried multiple methods to claim victory over this popostrious download, but I've advanced 0% in even understanding the core issue of why this mod is not working for me. I would appriciate any help at all, even help as to show me where to get these "logs" from.

This has been frustrating beyond the worth of enjoyment I would've gotten out of the mod, but for the sake of my sanity I would like to know what the problem is.

Can you screenshot your gta iv directory and upload it here please.

I think I know what your problem is but I just need a screenshot to verify it.

Interestingly your problem is not what I was expecting it to be, but your AdvancedHook is definitely not being called at all, otherwise you would have an Advancedhook.log. and an AdvancedHookInit.log.

That means that your LCPDFR script (and any other scripts you have) will also not be called at all.

I can't see the rest of your directory in the screenshot, so am going off potential speculation here.

Do you have ScriptHook.dll and ScriptHookDotNet.asi in your directory as well?

If your game loads but the LCPDFR script nor the console works then you are missing one of the very basic dependencies which calls those scripts into the game, so essentially you have the scripts installed but not actually being loaded, ever.

Check to make sure your ScriptHook.dll and ScriptHookDotNet.asi are both in the root of the directory.

I also notice you have dsound.dll (one of the 2 ASI loaders) so make sure you don't also have xlive.dll (the other ASI loader) because you only have one or the other.

Ok, I've attached also the bottom portion of my GTA IV directory, sorry about that. Through the multiple times i've uninstalled, and reinstalled LCPDFR, i've left xlive unchecked during the installation process, as I have a working GFWL.

That's great, thanks.

I am, legitimately entirely 100% baffled as to why none of your script dependencies are even initiating.

They're all in the correct place and should work fine.

When you say you run the diagnostics tool and it says critical error is that immediately within trying to run the tool?

When I click diagnostics, It gives me various opens, the first being if I would like to configure LCPDFR. The second option is "Check your installation", the third asks me if I would like to visit the LCPDFR website.

When I click "Check your installation" a blank box appears immidiatly followed by a window that says nothing other than, "Critical Error: 0x1"

Towards the bottom of the diagnotics box is a check box that says, "Advanced Mode". When I check that box, I can actualy open the "Check your installation" option. When I do check it, the only options it gives me is to "Open game folder", and "Abort"

Upon selecting "Open game folder" it just brings me to the basic "My computer" window where I can select my OS, etc

Actually, I got the diagnostics to work. After navigating in the "My computer" folder, I clicked on GTAIV and got the following window

Perfect, right what you need to do then is open the diagnostics tool, check the Advanced mode box and then click to check your installation.

Click the open game folder option and then using the window that pops up, navigate to your GTAIV directory and get it to check your install.

Let me know what it says :)

EDIT: missed your edit with the screenshot, right you're missing the microsoft redistributables.

You need to go and get all of those and install them.

Here is the net framework 4.5 http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30653 just in case you don't have that

Here is the 2012 redist http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=30679

To add to that, double clicking the failed component will bring up a help window telling you what to do.

Please do not PM me unless really necessary (knowing you helps). If you think you need my attention in a topic, tag me.

Wow, that actually worked. When I downloaded the framework 4.5, it told me that I already had it...or something better.

When I went to download the 2012 redist, I chose the x86 one, and rebooted my system. When I initially tried to play GTA IV again, the ALT + P still did not work. I then tried to run the diagnostics again and noticed the 2012 redist bar was now half full, and red, while the other bars were green.

I found out I had yet another thing to install, which was directX, the one It had me install can be found here:

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35

ALT + P now works, aswell as the console. LCPDFR is now running greatly.

I cannot thank you enough for the assistance, it is people such as yourself that gives the very essence of a support thread its worth. I greatly appreciate it.

it.
