CVPI with custom skin, textures disappear at certain distance

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

I just started learning how to manually reskin vehicles using the police.wtd files and came up with my first texture. I'm happy with how it turned out but I'm having a problem in that when a car (an AI one or my own) is a certain distance away the texture and wheels disappear. It still continues to drive normally. Here's a picture of what I'm talking about:

Also, here is a screen shot of my current settings:

My computer specs are:

GIGABYTE Z68X-UD3R-B3

2 NVIDIA GEFORCE 680 4GB running in SLI

INTEL i5-2500k @3.30GHz

8GB RAM

Direct X 11

Samsung 840 SSD

WD 500GB HDD

If anyone knows what the problem is or has solved an issue like this before any advice would be much appreciated.

Cheers

I think GTA is lying to you about not having enough memory...

Anyway, it's weird that it's doing that. Cars have different LODs, or Levels of Detail. What it looks like is happening is that the game is switching the car to a far away LOD even though the car is close to you. Could be a problem with the model.

It is indeed the model. I used to use it.
