I have a few questions on modeling specifically finalization,

 

Firstly I am testing a car in game and I get a Fatal Error.

 

Secondly what is a good name to rename your lights files to so they don't collide with other files.  

well if your game crashes, it could be that too much data has changed and the hard coded system in GTA IV is not compatible with it all. I know when I add a mod pack to change every car, I find myself re-installing the game. Thats why I only change the police and a few others dependingon which I like. When I use Zmodeler, I normally start at the letter Z so I would use misc_z for my lights and for the next set of lights I would use misc_x. a lot of times people start at a and work their way up so I start backwards. I am sure other people have other ways but that is how I do it.

What fatal error?? RC20?? If it is RC20, then you have to check your materials and you mod it self. Duplicated materials cause RC20 errors.

Yes it is RC20, no duplicated materials but I do find myself doing a lot of "extra_3333333" and up since I have so many of the same parts. What is a shorter way to do this?

you need to attach your extras that are the same number, so attach all your extra 1's together, extra 2's together etc etc etc

Oh god....You need to attach things. 

 

You should only have 1 of each L0 one of each L1 etc.

No. You only have L0 and L1 for extras. L2 for some car parts depending on personal preference. 

 

All you extra 1's attach to the L0, then copy the L0, rename it to L1 and uncheck it
