LCPDFR Dispatch Assistant

Featured Replies

Hello LCPDFR fans,

I've been assigned the project of coding something for the public domain to use as part of my computer science final. As I do most days, I turned on my LCPDFR for a taste of the action and the glory of policing the streets of Liberty City when I came to the idea of creating an interactive dispatch system for clans to use freely that would be used as an internet application for clan dispatchers to monitor calls, units, and their locations during a patrol. Now, before I set out to make something like this I was curious to get some common consensus or opinions on the idea, maybe some suggestions, too.

Thanks guys,

GtaGamerCop

Yes, it would indeed work for all role-play agencies. (Fire, EMS, Police, DOT, ect). I plan to make the interface look similar to that of an actual dispatch system. I'll likely have a beta out shortly, and I'll put a link to it in this thread. If you guys have any features you'd like to request, now is a great time to voice them, before I've got the core coded and done with. :)

I've got a BETA ready. Link will be at the bottom of this post.

As of now, only functions listed under "Police Department" and "Extras" work, other will be added soon.

To add a call for the police, mouse over "Police Department", then click on "New Callout", and fill in the required fields. Once you click the submit button, it will be added to the call board. Same thing for Traffic Stops, but with slightly different criteria.

Planned Features to Add:

- Hot key functionality

- Officer requesting assistance

- Live map

- EMS, Fire and DOT functions

- Printable 'after patrol report'

- Multiple dispatcher support

- Individual department customizations

- Sounds

- Finish user interface (It's about 30% done right now…)

- Add more patrol statistics

- Define pre-set calls for easy dispatching

Please, leave suggestions and feedback on this thread so I can work to improve this software for the community!

PS: There's a small chance I'll add an in game portal if enough people want it. That way, the dispatcher could communicate with units through the dispatch panel into the game.

The patrol reports are working out amazingly. This feature is cool for clans particular that like to publish records of their patrols afterwords. The system creates the report and spits it out to you so you can copy/paste it where ever you desire. The reports look like this:

Patrol Report: Sun Feb 09 2014 22:08:39 GMT-0700 (Mountain Standard Time)
------------------ <<< CALL LOG

Call Log

[22:4]: Callout - Type: Drunken Pedestrian | Location: Broker/Dukes | Casualties: 0 | Unit(s): 403

[22:4]: Traffic Stop - Model: Admiral | Ocupants: 3 | Reason: Speeding | Unit: 403

[22:4]: Callout - Type: Shots Fired | Location: Willis | Casualties: 2 | Unit(s): 403, 301, 87, 102

[22:4]: Callout - Type: Domestic Disturbance | Location: Broker/Dukes | Casualties: 0 | Unit(s): 403

[22:4]: Officer in Need of Assistance - Officer: 403 | Location: Broker/Dukes | Status: Code 3 | Responding Unit: 78

------------------ <<< STATS
Traffic Stops: 1
Police Callouts: 3
Police Backup Requested: 1

The system will print all events that are registered into the system by a dispatcher and put them here. Obviously, for this demo, I only entered four events in the duration of one minute. The stats at the bottom are also there automatically. More stats will be added in the future. (casualties, police vehicles damaged, supervisors requested, ect)

What would be cool is maybe you could create an open source version when complete.

This way clan owners and administrators can install this to their website and their own database and customize it to their liking.

For example, I would install this to: cad.libertycountydps.tk

You should also add user accounts with different permissions.

You should then make it so we can edit calls and add a deposition.

Then, It'd be neat if we could have a unit board, and it'd be interactive..

See the flow chart I made below for an idea.

Action: Moved Unit 205 to 10-6 > Open new call/traffic stop (or even prompt) > Move unit 10-8 > Clear Call and Close it.

Just some thoughts. The LCDP:FR community really needs a CAD system and I'm surprised it hasn't been developed yet

'Ello all!

After a brief pause in work, I started up again with making this program. The very fist version (v1.1) can be found here: http://tfm.freeiz.com/

New versions will be released on a fairly regular basis, including new features. You all have the opportunity, and are welcome to submit your ideas and questions; infact they're appreciated!

Stay classy,

There is literally a new dispatch program being released everyday. Two days I announced my progress for my web-based dispatch, yesterday Faracus announced he was creating his, and now you've released yours. It's kinda funny :P

One thing I suggest that you do is to create some system so that dispatchers can keep track of several units. I also suggest putting together a bit of a nicer design. I mean, it looks alright, but it could be a bit prettier.

Good job so far!

Thanks, Bojan!

The design for the first version is rather rudimentary, I'll agree with you there. I had been so focused on the functionality that I wasn't too concerned with the looks.

Anyways,

Here's a sneak peak of v1.2!

Thanks!

I've actually got plans for even more renovations to the design in coming versions, as well as new features including a live map! More details on that will be released in not too long.  :whistling:

To answer your question,

yes there will be an open source version, or at the least options to customize the system to the clan's liking. There's currently a well-functioning live unit board, and permissions with accounts are coming shortly. As for the unit status options, I've considered it and I may create a v1.2.5Beta with a bunch of new features available including the unit status options.

Another thing to add; the live map is coming along beautifully. It works with in-game software via C++ scripts and drops pins on call locations, unit locations, and more. The locations are updated every 0.5 seconds *without* causing lag on the server so the locations are very accurate. The goal with the map is eventually you'll be able to click on a unit and send it instructions or a message via the dispatch panel and it'll display on the in-game officer's system, for example you may be able to press a button like "Send unit to (unit number here)'s location" and it'd advise both units on the status, as well as the ETA every 35 seconds.

Version 1.5 is nearly ready for public release, complete with a redesigned call dispatching system (One button for any type of call), and a unit status system. (10-8, 10-11, ect)

Are there any specific features anyone would like to see before it's released?

Will your system have the ability to "spawn/create" in-game calls? You mentioned a possible live map feature which I would imagine include a client side script. Possibly you maybe able to spawn/create calls by sending call info to clients resulting in their game automatically spawning them in the multiplayer session?
