Is my computer able to run GTA IV?

Featured Replies

I've had to uninstall this a couple of times (due to mods) and I've noticed the game does eem to lag, even though I have very few games and I have a gaming computer. I've looked at the min requirements but they aren't helping. Can someone teel me if my specs (below) are enough to run the game?

BTW, I have 850gb free space

I would recommend you go to Can You Run It and have a look on there.

Let me know what results you get for GTA IV and I will let you know what to do afterwards.

Your PC will definitely run on GTA 4. Just don't go and put it on the highest setting with all those mods.

Yes it will run GTA IV however your graphics card isn't the best in the world.

You would be better off with a GTX series for gaming rather than a standard GT series, but your card will do.

As mentioned in the comment above you will need to drop your settings down to achieve a reasonable frame rate, and you should be ok to run LCPDFR as well.

However if you try to add car, ped or weapon models or even any ENB mods you will suffer drastically and get a large amount of texture errors and crashes.

So to summarise

Only run GTA IV and LCPDFR for the best stability and drop down your game settings until you get at least 40fps (30 is good as well but 40 is a good average)

Also on top of that, make a commandline if you havent already as that will boost fps.

STEP ONE
make a new .TXT and name it " Commandline.txt "
then copy and paste the following into it exactly how it is

-norestriction
-nomemrestrict
-availablevidmem "1.1"
-percentvidmem "100"

put the .txt into the main directory of GTA IV where the GTAIV.exe is found

and then run the game as normal this already should help performance a great deal on any pc.
