Asking for the community's help!

Featured Replies

So I started a petition about a month ago to change the laws in Pennsylvania regarding the courtesy light laws. While the 10,000 signature goal wont guarantee the law gets changed, I feel the more signatures I can get, the better chance I have. Seeing as this is a community based around emergency vehicles and  things of the sort, I figured you guys would be most in support! I'm asking graciously for you to sign my petition, and if you feel as passionately about this as I do, and your state's laws are the same, I strongly encourage you to start you're own petition and post it here! I thank you all for your consideration in advance!

You'd probably have a better chance of having an impact by getting a petition passed around PA fire companies (with actual PA residents signing it, not out-of-staters), and sending it on to state legislators (who actually can change the laws), not just starting an online petition. State legislatures pay much more attention to residents of the state than petitions that have mostly people from all over signing them.

All of the following have already been done, minus handing it out to fire companies. The petition is linked directly to my local representative, and I also plan on meeting him personally to speak about this. And out-of-staters signing it isnt really a big deal, just shows their support for it. The petition is just being used to show that people support the idea for the new bill.

Thanks for the reply.

The meeting with the representative especially is a great idea. A lot of people make e-petitions and think they're magic; it seems like you don't. Instead, you actually have your stuff together, know what needs to be done, and are actively making a serious effort. Good job with this, and good luck.
