EFLC: "This game does not allow mods"

Featured Replies

I'm having some issues with connecting to multiplayer free mode with this mod. It probably isn't related to the new release of LCPDFR but for some reason, I can't get it to work. I did do a search on this, both on Google and throughout these forums, to no avail.

I do have a dsound.dll file in my EFLC directory and TBoGT directory, and no xliveless.dll file in either of those directories. Though it might be worth mentioning that I don't have dsound.dll in my GTA IV directory.

Is there something I'm doing wrong, or is this mod not compatible with online matches? I know I can join a "custom" match where others mod their games as well, but an Intel Core 2 doesn't seem to be very happy with other people's mods. ;)

Edit: I'm trying to play TBoGT online; I'm not worried about TLaD.

Thanks!

I'd say it has something to do with you trying to join a MP game that does not allow mod, it's pretty normal. I would recommend you joining games that are specifically made for modded multiplayer instead :)

I can imagine that. But free mode should be fine, right? I just use the mod to change my character -- I don't use it for anything else. :)

If I join a modded free mode, the problem is that everyone has Native Trainers and hacks and whatnot. :(

Yeah, if you want to play modded GTA IV online it's better to play with a trusted bunch of people :) Post here and ask for example (www.lcpdfr.com/topic/5287-want-to-play-mp-right-now/).

You should try joining using the "Custom Match" option. You choose a lobby and usually, you should be able to join.

Ah, I readed too fast, didn't noticed the last part... But I think it's the only way.

Hmm. So there's no way to play online with public free roams, huh?

Some may allow it, but playing with mods online is generally frowned upon.

I know it's generally frowned upon and am glad to see that it's generally not supported.

But I've seen people playing in unmodded sessions before (with one or two people with mods). Is there some file they have or something? It looks like the DSound file allows them to do it but doesn't work for me.

As I said, I understand it's frowned upon and am on board with that. But I don't plan to use this thing but with a few friends who don't necessarily have a mod.
