LCPDFR 1.0 not Functioning at all

Featured Replies

Okay I've been trying to figure this stuff out for over an hour, nothing seems to add up to any sense, and the suggestions I see might as well be written in Chinese because I am not an IT specialist, I am a gamer.

At this point I am quite frustrated and annoyed so if this topic is wrong then I apologize; I'm doing the best I can.

So here is the deal: in game Alt+P does nothing. I have completely reinstalled GTA. I have run the installation for LCPDFR and everything seems to be there because it hasn't told me otherwise. I don't know what it means to run as an admin but I have full permissions on it. I have clicked properties on the GTA folder and deselected read only and clicked apply, however as soon as I click okay, if I open the window again, Read Only is applied again even though none of the files themselves seem to be read only. I've tried to do everything that the help page says to do and all I have to show for it is confusion so that is why I am making this thread.

On top of all this I don't even get any logs. It's all just dead. GTA works fine but LCPDFR seems to be dead in the water.

Once again, trying to figure this out myself is overwhelming and I am just absolutely completely lost so any help I can get would be most appreciated.

A thousand thanks,

JJax

Hey, and welcome to the fora. Try and answer all of these questions please: Legal copy of the game? Running the game as administrator? Latest patch? What other mods are you using? What operating system are you using (Windows XP is NOT supported)? Make sure that LCPDFR 0.95 is removed (http://www.lcpdfr.com/page/tutorials/index.action/_/script-data-file-modification-tutorials/how-to-uninstall-lcpdfr-r19).

Also, please install these

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30653

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5549 (If you haven’t updated GFWL, use this).

Running the game as administrator: Go to the GTA IV folder, right click on GTAIV.exe, Properties, Compatibility and select 'Run this program as administrator', do the same exact thing to the LaunchGTAIV.exe.

Legal copy purchased through Steam

Running game as admin (as instructed)

I tried downloading latest patch as instructed by the forum post but the file will not download correctly (I assume because my copy is through Steam)

I am using no other mods. All I have is GTA and LCPDFR 1.0

The operating system is Windows 7 Professions 64-bit

LCPDFR .95 has already been removed.

Installed and/or reinstalled all files you posted.

LCPDFR was not functioning enough to have logs either.

Edit: I am going to attempt to start it up again with the changes that have been made. Stand by

Install it manually. You just have to extract all the files from the manual installation folder into your GTA IV directory (right click on it in steam, properties, local files, browse local files) then pick an asi loader from the folder labeled "LCPDFR Install (ASI loaders)" (dsound is preferred) and put that in the same directory.

LCPDFR is starting up now.

There are still other issues but they are unrelated to this topic.

So thanks everyone for the assistance, especially ineseri. I will mark this as solved
