What unique vehicles does you local departments use?

Featured Replies

Today, I saw an undercover 2011  Ford Taurus SHO. I thought the SHO wasn't used by departments... It only had 2 grille lights and regular plates on the back. What do you think?

My department uses mostly 2008 Chevy Impalas, A few Ford Victoria Slicktops (the best! ;) ), 2009 Chevy Tahoes, and two Chevy Vans...

All our patrol units are Ford Explorers (very similar to the one above) and we have an unmarked Crown Vic but I rarely see it and I have never seen it respond and it has a small blue strobe beacon on the hood, but that's all I can think of for our department (There are many more that I don't know about) and the city I live by has all Crown Vics and they have a lot of cool cars that I have seen patrol near my house

My department is currently testing out the charger and Ford's P.I. They also have a Ford P.I. Utility for our K9 unit, and an unmarked version for the sergeant . They also have one unmarked cvpi and several marked cvpi's.

We just got rid of all our crown vics. Now only Chargers and Tahoes. I used to drive a Charger. Long story short it was damaged by hail. Our supervisor has an undercover Audi A7. I was hoping it would replace my charger but I got another charger

Kansas Highway Patrol got 14 retro Crown Vics to commemorate their 75th Anniversary in 2012. They bought the last Crown Vic produced by Ford.

Yup! Typical lineup for small towns (Like mine) in USA. CVPIs are being retired as we speak, it'll be maybe 3-7 years before they are all replaced with Explorers, Caprices, Taurus's, Impalas, Chargers, tahoes, or whatever. :D

My town Department is no different, it's too expensive to buy 10 New Cars (That's about the size of the fleet my town has) all at once, so they'll do it gradually starting with supervisor first.

This police department around me uses this (mostly as a dare but sometimes for patrol) This car was used the movie fast and farious and ironically was donated to them by Paul Walkers Charity
