Non-ELS dedicated site

Featured Replies

Does anybody know of a website dedicated to non-els cars? With quite a broad range? Regularly developed interessting models?

If not, would you (the fine people of LCPD:FR) be interessted in seeing one founded? I for one have no modelling experience so a decent modeller's experience may be definitely needed.

If you do have any Non-els models to share, which are unique I would quite appreciate a link.

Hench

Just a few that I've made.

Aha. Non ELS Mods are hard to find. I tried browsing around but couldn't get much on it.

I like the models, very nice, I've tried a few already, the washington has just been dispatched on to LC streets :) Thankyou very much for sharing

If I do get round to founding a site, could I have the honour of linking them?

I know they are good, problem is if you count there are about 8. Minus the two FCV Precinct and HP unit which have handling and texture issues , you're left with 6. Not many at all. And from what I have seen and the impression I get no chance of new models either.

I really don't know what you are talking about...8? whatever mate

Sorry I wasn't clear enough, what I meant was there are only 8 non-ELS cars (I cant be honest to count exactly), this is gta4-mods.com btw,

all the Hungarian cars and Bugatti's e.t.c are all ELS.

I know Luxart has got quite a few non-ELS car mods on GPM.

That he does. But its fairly limited.

Thats my whole point; limited selection; CVPI, Impala 06, Default cars. Why not innovate a little; for instance a Impala 9C1 non-els or a Taurus or even a BMW or Bugatti Veyron non ELS. Lt.Caine made a non ELS lightbar on one of his models I guess it could replace one of the ELS lightbars on a car, though I'm no moddeler so I don't really know whether it works like that, be great if it did tbh...

The problem, really, is this:

there is a demand for non-ELS cars. There is a DEMAND for ELS enabled cars.

Thus there really would be no benefit for someone to make a website entirely devoted to non-ELS cars. If GPM or other sites made a sub-section for just non-ELS, that would be awesome, it just seems that no one cares that much. I use only non-ELS cars and I spend a long time trying to hunt down decent cars (since, lets be honest, a lot some of the non-ELS cars are... well, sub-par). All the sites I use have been listed already so I won't go and double post a link but yeah, it takes a lot of hunting. And it's a shame.

I suppose that is so... I guess it would make more sense for a non-els section on a website than a whole new one ... I would have prefered that too ... I dount anybdoy would care and you visualised the reason;

there is a demand for non-ELS cars. There is a DEMAND for ELS enabled cars.

Though I would like to say demand is increasing; if you watched Nicolai Bavnbek, he is now using non-ELS, when you have "big cheeses" wanting something else, the moddlers I guess would change and follow. Just a guess though, not to say its how its going to turn out.

You can view the model in the newer versions of OpenIV which displays a poly count.

As a general point, most Crown Victorias contain anywhere between 120,000 polygons, to 160,000, whereas the default police vehicles have around 14,000.
