GTA IV "Hiccups" Occuring

Featured Replies

Hello!

I have recently installed GTA IV onto my desktop computer and as I started driving, the game starts lagging for 1 second or so and goes back to normal. It does this constantly. My computer specs looks good from my point of view. Not so sure what's causing it as I have no mods installed. I have updated my graphics card driver and I have put a commandline text into my GTA IV directory. My computer specs are below:

Windows 7 (32-bit)

Intel i5 (2.7 Ghz)

ATI Radeon HD 4670

4 GB of RAM

Thank you!

Do you have the latest patch installed? You can also try a command line.

Try logging off or shutting down, like hiccups, this is temporary

I do have the latest patch installed. I have these right now typed in the commanline.txt:

--norestriction

--nomemrestrict

--availablevidmem 1

--percentvidmem 100

Have done that several times but it still does the same thing.

Did you buy the game? It's an anti-piracy measure put in by Rockstar.

If yes: Disable the Windows Error Log service:

1. Press the WindowsKey+R and type MSCONFIG into the bar.
2. Open the utility, select 'Services' and then untick the 'Windows Event Log' entry.
3. After clicking 'OK' you will be prompted to reboot so the changes can take effect. After a reboot please try the game again. It should now work.

Hi, after I installed an Enb, my game also gets a constant hiccup every 8 seconds or so. What works for me is, if I pause the game and then press Alt + Tab, the screen will minimize back to desktop. Now when I click back to the game, the hiccups stop. It's annoying I have to do it but it works for me.
