Need ideas for my CVPI for next summer :D

Featured Replies

I was really hoping I could my Crown Vic away for the winter but was unable to financially afford another car for the winter, that being said, i'm trying to find ways I can improve it over the course of Canadian winter (uggghhhh)..

Any ideas?

Next summer I want to buy some Whelen Vertex (Amber) and install them on my front & back fenders, new paintjob, possibly new rims from a newer year Crown Vic, but so far, that's all that I can think of right now, can anyone give me any ideas? i'm hoping to never have to drive it in another winter again & how can I get rid of rust underneath?

Front wheel drive?! In Canada?!      If you're going to recommend a replacement for a CVPI, you need 4 wheel drive bro. Front wheel is absolute shite in winter.

Oh my sweet jeeeezzzzus, whomever did that should pepper spray themselves, right in the anus & whatever is left, should go into the eyes.. a sound system would be pretty nice, I just washed her all up & shined up the tires one last time before winter, may the salt destroy my rocker panels...

Well, since you live in the Maritimes, and are bound to get a lot of rain and snow, I would suggest rustproofing it (obviously). Try not to buy white cars because it sticks out like a sore thumb with rust on it. If it doesn't matter, I would change the colour.

I was just going to say, Take it to your nearest Pay n' Spray to get it clean. I wasn't sure if people actually painted their day-to-day cars in real life.

I was thinking i'd change it to either a really dark metallic blue, or just a really dark blue.

I did the undercoat myself about a month or so ago you could see the smoke from my car for at LEAST 2 miles lol, changed the oil & get winter tires in another 2 weeks or so :D & next sumer my buddy and I are going to sand blast it & repaint it, so it will probably be parked and soon as the snow is gone.

Have you ever thought about getting Crown Rust Control done on it? My Dad's '03 Ram 1500 has been treated once annually since he bought it and she still looks brand new. It takes only about a half hour and costed around 125 bucks. Worth it dude. Oh, and maybe get some custom exhaust to really amplify that dual exhaust sound of the V8.

I thought Krown was more expensive? I bought the spray gun, compressor & fluid film to just do it myself, I actually found an exhaust last night I really like call a "Glass Breaker" I think it was.

Nah. I took my mom's '09 Dodge Nitro R/T to one of their garages last week and it only took a half hour and cost her no more than $125.

Hmm but doing it myself is somewhat cheaper, guess it's pretty much the same after just 4 cans of the crap & its messy.

They actually do tiny drill points into your vehicle to get deep inside though. It's more comprehensive and it stinks like a MF for a day, but the holes aren't noticeable at all it it has keep my dad's truck on the road for years looking brand new.

It's crunch time right now since winter is near, next week (I think) my snow tires are getting put on & that & $690.00, so considering I found a center console (finally) undercoat & winter tires that's almost $900.00.. lol I think the undercoat may have to wait until after Christmas if I want to get a proper one lol girlfriend is getting mad at how much I put into it just since October.. can't blame her though.. but she understands I want us both to be safe since Canadian winters are FAR from fun, but you already know that since you're a fellow Canadian yourself.
