no im reading the hours and they closed a few hours ago they are saying it was most likely equipment damage but they dont know for sure they are still places in my area without power. They would also send emails or call them to let them know about work on the power lines they didn't so someone messed with the power lines

That^

Maintenance on the powerlines are normal, and the power company doesn't have to send out letters detailing the shutdown (although they usually do, because that's how nice they are). You should sleep when it's past 2:am bro.

Invenio, Investigatio, Imperium

Southern California Edison has a map on their website where you can see current outages, the reason, and when power is expected to be restored. They even have a nifty iphone app so you can check during the outage. I would think that a lot of power companies would have something similar.

so does Ohio Edison but its kind of hard to check it when you have no power

Interesting, in Michigan, atleast where I live, we had a large storm followed by a neon blue sky, an orange flash, then the power went out. So it was probably just a transformer that blew over here, dunno about over there.

my guess is that someone messed with the transformer they said that someone most likely broke it but it took 2 hours to fix
