I've been using both for as long as I can remember, and the game runs fine, but pretty much everyone else says that you can only have one or the other. So out of curiosity I'd like to know whether anyone else can do this too or if I my luck is overpowered.

Are you 100% sure that you are using both? You aren't supposed to do that.

From my knowledge, you can not run both dll's at the same time. The game will crash. I have no idea how you are if you're telling the truth.

I meant he somehow used a vanilla windows version of dsound.dll. There normally isn't one in the GTA IV directory because the game will automatically call the one in the windows folder. However, if you place dsound.dll (or any other windows dll that it uses) in the GTA IV directory, it will use those instead of the windows versions. That is my understanding of it, at least.
