Help me with lag while recording with "Mirillis Action!" + Fatal Error: RESC10

Featured Replies

I just bought Action! from Mirillis.com(?) and I was testing to see if there was any lag during recording. Unfortunately, there was tons of lag unlike Bandicam that just lags a little. I don't know why but it does. If someone has that product, help me solve my problem. (I tried to use 720p and and set the framerate to 30 fps.) No one solved my problem but I got this error every 10 mins for a month now... this is the error I get every time...

GTA IV FATAL ERROR: RESC10

(X) GTA IV FATAL ERROR: Out of video memory - Please re-boot your system

295768064 295768064

I even ran GTA IV as administator too.

I have lcpdfr, police car mods, traffic control beta, els, and trainer.

You are getting the RESC10 error because of your car mods, try and remove them and insert the vanilla cars. It should work after that, one of them is most likely faulty.

You can also try creating a file called "commandline.txt" in your main GTA IV directory and insert the following lines:

-percentvidmem 100 -nomemrestrict

If that still does not work, insert these lines:

-renderquality 0 -shadowdensity 0 -texturequality 0 -viewdistance 0 -detailquality 0 -novblank -norestrictions -width 320 -height 240 -safemode -windowed -percentvidmem 100 -minspecaudio -novsync -renderquality 0 -frameLimit 0 -nomemrestrict

Can't speak for that recording software but I use Fraps and am 100% happy with it. I still get lag in GTA with it, I think that's a more GTA thing than recording software thing. every other game I have runs pretty smooth while recording.

Yes jasonw there is better, at least in my opinion.  I use to use fraps but have moved to mirillis action and glad I did.  My YT channel if you want to see it in https://www.youtube.com/user/GerhartRTFO

Dragon as far as lag while using Action, I have no lag at all.  I noticed that you are playing from and recording to the same hard drive and that will definitely cause lag.  The strange thing is you say you don't get it using bandi.  I have my recording settings at: Video quality High, Input range 0-255 ( the 16-235 makes my videos dark ), make sure "Use multicore recording" is checked.  Action has been the most user friendly and easy on the system recorder I have ever used.

You can't be serious!?

Allot of professionals use Fraps, and that the difference between fraps and bandicam, that FRAPS is your 'high-end' program. It beats the rest, however it is greedy. It will chew through your CPU and RAM, and each segment of video it captures will be huge. If you have a high-end machine, and are recording new, demanding games, and want the highest quality captures, then FRAPS is the way to go. I use it,

The problem is that it's just an average computer except it has a graphics card XD

I did that but it still lags so bad...I wasted $35...grrr Bandicam is better because it doesnt lag as bad as Action! :((( Anymore tips you can provide me??

My machine is not high end by far, I only have issues with Fraps in GTA, my frames drop to single digets at times, other games like ETS2 I stay around 30-40FPSS.

For Bandicam, I get 25-30 fps. Fraps is the same and Action! gives me 45fps but I lag so much...

I did that and it now spawns taxis but when i remove commandline, the traffic control mod works fine...plus im losing textures.

Dragon I believe the reason behind your lag while using action has to do with file size and writing and playing from the same hard drive.  From the look of your specs I'm assuming it's a laptop.  I don't know if recording to an external hard drive would help or not because of the transfer rate.  Bandi has a very small compared to the others.

I ran a little test last night between fraps and action.  I recorded a 10 minute video in Iron Front with a massive 100 AI battle.  Action's 10 minute file size was 4.24Gigs and the Fraps 10 video came in at 12.5Gigs.  There was very little difference in quality, some but not enough to justify me giving up action.

If you have an external hard drive you can give that a go to see if it helps but I think the transfer rate will be the bottleneck.  This is all just my opinion and experience.

EDIT:  Found a nice video showing the differences

Using an external drive will cause a bottleneck, unless you have a really fast connection (like, USB 3.0). But still, it will cause a decrease in speed.

Fraps does make some massive files. I think my last ETS2 video was upwards of 15GB for a 20 minute video. GTA is on my C Drive "R* demanded it" but the rest of my games are on a 1TB external drive which is also the drive I record to with no issues.
