It's probably not the disc, but the harddrive. Before we go into detail, How many times have you tried to reinstall it? Is it always on disc 2?

ive uninstalled it when the error happened and then i reinstalled it , about 4 times

thx

Cyclic redundancy errors usually mean that your disc is damaged and your PC is unable to read parts of the data anymore (sometimes older dvd drives have this issue with dvds using double layer writing). There's a possibility your dvd was damaged, in which case you should be able to get a refund at the store if you recently bought it.

You could try and copy all the contents of the disc to a folder on your harddrive and see if that works.

I'll try and come up with more solutions!

No problem.

1. Go to "Computer"

2. Find the GTA IV disc and right click it. Select Open (Do not select run, start or anything like that).

3. You should now be in the disc and viewing the contents.

4. Press Ctrl+A followed by Ctrl+C

5. Create a new folder somewhere on your computer, like the desktop.

6. Open that folder and press Ctrl+V

7. Let the files be copied.

When the GTA IV installation asks for the location for Disc2, select the folder that you just created instead of the actual disc 2.

EDIT: Keep in mind that SecuRom might not accept the copy you made.

You were supposed to copy Disc2, since that was the problematic disc, right?

When you insert Disc1, the GTA IV installation will eventually ask for the location of Disc2, select the folder that you just created instead of the actual disc 2.
