ELS Help

Featured Replies

I love how crisp, clear, and bright my blues flashing. Sadly the same cannot be said for the amber warning lights. I've seen other peoples videos and screenshots and their amber lights are clear and crisp, yet mine still fail to impress. Attached is a screenshot of their shotty visual effect. Now when I installed ELS, I didn't add the two files titled taxi and laptop(not sure on exact file name) because the readme did not specify where they should go. Could this be causing the problem, or is it something else?

It may also have the same effect for your lights.

Good luck.

I still don't know how to import those files... they are just images... I'm using Spark and when I open taxi.wtd it doesn't give me an import option.

That is not a fix. What you are probably referring to are ENB settings which make the LEDs look much more realistic, unfortunately, you can't get ENB settings without ENB. If I was you, I'd try a car with a smaller traffic advisor, lights usually look nicer when they are smaller.

You're currently using Radiance, right? Maybe Luminescence mod suits you better.

Break has posted the options for you, but for future reference for you, this is the steps to importing .png files into their correct locations. Sometimes you have to do a little hunting to find the corresponding file.

Image heavy, apologies.

Do the same for the laptop. As for the lights themselves, that may be a config thing or a texture that needs to be dulled down. Comes down to trial and error.

Thanks, what was screwing me over was that I wasn't editing the wtd folders. I appreciate your help :) Now lets see if I can't clean up these warning lights.

Well I don't believe I can solve this problem... not until they come out with a newer version of this CVPI. I'm very picky, and no other car made has suited me.

CVPI skins are interchangable, so if you find a car that you like with another lightbar you can transfer the skin over to that with the same wtd editing

Oh word? nuh uh! Dang, I'm so out of the loop on this stuff! Thanks pal, this made my day.

So I just need to find a cvpi with a better light bar. import the wft. file but keep the old wtd?

No. You will have to extract the skins from the old WTD (you can't miss them) and replace the skins that are already there in the new wtd. Try it and if you can't manage I'll do it for ya.

Just an advice... Not all cars use the same "structure" for skins... So the skin from one car might not work on another one(Has happened to me... even from one Crown victoria to another one.)

I'm lost. I can't even find a new car that has a lightbar I like. They all have red in them :pinch:

Lightbar colours are all editable. (well most)

xGessx, 95% of all cvpi's will have interchangable skins, since they all base on schaeffts 3d model and his uv mapping.

Well it's not the Sheriff cvpi. I added a different car and the amber is just as blury.

Break and AussieMerc are made-men in my book. Thanks for the great help great guys. Break your edit of the wtd file worked famously. Thanks much, pal.
