Anybody tried this?

 

I'm thinking somehow I'll be able to map the L3 button on PS3 pad to the siren & lights (stage 3) with just one click.

 

I'm just reading through the manual now and nothing is jumping out at me. Do you think it will be possible for example:

 

Within ELS v7 settings:

 

Map siren to J key

Map Lights to J key

Map controller L3 button to J key

 

The only problems I can see

 

Maybe ELS doesn't allow siren & lights from the same key?

Maybe I can't map stage 3? So I'll need to press L3 three times? (Not a big problem)

 

So yeah I'm gonna see what I can do. Any advice before I begin?

UPDATE WITH SOLUTION:

 

 

I went into the ELS.ini file and updated it to RightShift+Ctrl to enable 'Express mode' and it works!

 

So now I hit L3 on the PS3 pad and I get lights & siren together.

It sounds like you want to use Express Mode, which replaces all ELS keys with a single key: the default siren key. Pressing that key will then turn on sirens and lights. To turn on Express Mode, hit Ctrl+Backspace.

Yeah this sounds perfect.

 

Only one problem, when I hit Ctrl+Backspace nothing changes. I still gotta press J three times to get lights on. pressing the horn just beeps.

Personally, I like the code 1,2,3 feature, therefore I have not used express mode. Try to change the keys, it could have something to do with the keys.

Anybody have any more info on this?

I only know that you can activate your Horn without pressing H, when you have your primary Lights on.

Alt+H and then Alt+J.

Alt-Button makes all backwards so Alt+J = Code 3 without scrolling through all Codes

I've fixed it!

NEW PROBLEM:

 

ELS crashes after 10minutes of gameplay in Express mode.

 

In normal mode, it NEVER crashed for me with v7. But in Express mode it has now crashed 2 times.

An alternative to using express mode is to use a program such as "Xpadder" and associating the J key (primary lights)= left dpad, Shift (pull over)=down dpad, etc.

As for the crashing, is it throwing any error codes?

1: the PS3 is not a girl and does not need "pads".

 

2: Xpadder would be a great program for you to look in to.
