Hello everyone I need help in installing Grand Theft Auto IV.

Whenever I try to install GTA 4 I always get this message ----> "Your system is incompatible with %P. Please follow the link below for more information."

what does that mean exactly?

Please help me. I bought the gta 4 dvd for about 5 months now and I don't know how I can get to play gta 4 and lcpdfr.

thank you in advance to those who will help me solve this problem.

PS NOTE: I already searched and googled on the web and I couldn't find an answer. hopefully I will here.

Try to run it in a compatibility mode (XP).

What is compatibility mode?

XP? You mean I need to run it on windows XP? Can't I run it in 8? cause I cant spare money on buying another OS

Thanks for answering btw

Open the GTA IV Disc by right clicking on it, and clicking "Open".

Go to the GTAIV Folder, and find the "setup" application.

Right click that on, click "Compatibility" and select a system. (I did Windows Vista)

Click Apply or Okay.

Right click it again, and click Run As Administrator.

This should work.

Best,

KRI

ok..... I was able to install it. it installed.

BUT!!!!!

There's another problem. It wont launch......        -_-      (there's always obstructions)

ok whenever I try to run gta4 the rockstar games social club pops up right and then I click on play. then this window appears and says

"The rockstar games social club application is still running. to open the application, right-click the icon in the system tray."

that's what it says. which I tried to do but the only options when I right click are "open" which repeats the same process as the above and the window that says that appears again.

"run when windows starts", "resets all warning messages",  "about", and "exit".

that's it. that's all the options. the gta4 doesn't run at all.

oh and btw, when I install the lcpdfr rc95 something installation failure it says. help!           T_T

You have to use the 1.0.7.0 patch from Rock* Games (Guess I forgot to mention that. Sorry!)

The social club login provided with the disc install is outdated and doesn't work.

Run the 1.0.7.0 update, and be sure you have the latest version of GFWL.

Google and download and install the Latest GFWL anyways to be sure.

When the 1.0.7.0 patch is done, right click and run as administrator.

Let me know how that goes

Best,

KRI

ok so it worked. I was able to lunch gta4 successfully! thanks to you and adamP.

but it turns out that im playing on VERY LOW quality. low textures and all that.

so I decided to build my own gaming pc (which I was planning to ever since). But that means that I will have to wait on playing gta4 lcpdfr since I don't wanna play it like this.

anyways thank you Knight Rider and adamP for all y'all help I really appreciate it. keep helping noobs like me! ^_^

oh umm last question(s).

what OS would you recommend for my gaming build for gta4 lcpdfr? besides 8 of course.

AND I put in the product key of gta4 here on this pc. so when I get my own build, can I still install the same gta4 dvd with the same product key on my build? or do I have to uninstall gta4 on this one?

thanks!

Edited by mikoyyuy

You shouldn't have to uninstall GTA on your current PC.

However, if you do, be sure you don't revoke your activation on that disc, otherwise your activation key will be useless.

As for a recommended OS, I can't recommend one because everyone has their own tastes, and preferences.

I'd go with the one that suits you best (if it's not Windows 8)

Glad to hear you got your game working!

Best,

KRI
