Installed LCPD, suspension is so loose

Featured Replies

I haven't played GTA IV in a while. I've been playing Need For Speed and Need For Speed World.

So, I installed the LCPD mod and I restarted GTA IV and I feel like the cars are completely unrealistic. They seem to float through the air with the tires hanging three feet down to touch the road whenever I hit a bump.

The speed of the vehicles also seems to be in slow-motion.

When I stop, I slide for miles.

If I hit another car, it's like my car is made of aluminum foil and instantly flips onto its top.

I can't remember if this is normal for GTA IV or if I'm just used to Need For Speed.

Or if it's just the LCPD mod.

Please advise.

If this is normal for GTA IV, what mod is best to make the cars drive like IRL?

Thanks in advance.

If you mean when you turn, the whole body sways, then that can be fixed in handling.dat file.

Assuming it's car model you downloaded and installed, it may or may not have given a handling line on the MOD's Page, or in the ReadMe.

If it gave a handling line, edit handling.dat and replace the line.

Example: If I got a new polpatriot vehicle, and it sways to much/rolls over easily, and it has a handling line.

I'd go to C:Programs Files (x86)Rockstar GamesGrand Theft Auto IVcommondata and open up handling.dat find the polpatriot handling line, and replace it with the one that came with my car model. Save the file, and play!

Of course, GTA IV can't be running while you do this. (I've tried while it's running and handling.dat file changes didn't show up until a restart of the game)

Hope this helped in any way

Best,

KRI

Thanks everyone. The default cars are the problem. I've only installed one vehicle and that car has the least problems.

I sort of remember how it was difficult to drive in this game. I think it's been more than a year since I played.

I might be more used to the arcade feel in Need For Speed where the handling is more subtle than in this game.

If I have time, I might post a video of my driving to see if it's me or the game because I'm shocked by the loose shocks on these cars.
