NPC - No Audio

Featured Replies

Hi,

I downloaded NPC and when I go on duty, I lose audio.

I tried changing AudioDeviceIndex=4 from 1-4. That didn't fix anything.

All mods load, it's just audio stops when I go on duty.

Please post the RagePluginHook.log which can be found in the main folder.

If you feel that I’ve been helpful, a simple “thank you” is enough. 🙂

Update Kuchera callouts!

Try them two and see if it still happens. If it does, try without xscanner

Thanks for trying, at least we can rule XScanner out.

[6/5/2026 9:42:11 PM.236] LSPD First Response: Traffic Policer compatibility warning: The current game version is newer than 1.0.3521.0 and may or may not be incompatible due to RPH changes. Use at own risk.

Could be worth trying without Traffic Policer as a diagnostic step, but if you haven't had any issues with it, it should be fine.

I had a look at NPCI to see if there was anything that would provide some clues. As per the readme:

*** Because both engines (WSR & MSP) are intertwined in the new NPCI 2.1 - YOU MUST have Microsoft Speech Platform installed to use NPCI 2.1, even if you don't intend on using the new Microsoft Speech Platform. The plugin looks for MSP on load up, and if you don't have MSP installed, the plugin will load, but the speech recognition won't work (even if you have WSR set as the engine in the INI file). Since most users will have the latest Grammar Police installed, you probably have MSP installed on your system already. If not, you will need to install the Microsoft Speech Platform MSI (link below), as well as the language pack, which will take you all of 5 minutes. You can download them through the included links below: ***

Microsoft Speech Platform: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=27225

Language Packs: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=27224

** For the speech platform install, download the larger 2.6 MB SpeechPlatformRuntime.msi, NOT the 2.2 MB one.

** For English users - download the "MSSpeech_SR_en-US_TELE.msi"

Did you install the Microsoft Speech Platform? As I see you don't have Grammar Police, so that may be it

and just to be sure, you definitely have the StopThePed version of NPCI?
