    i found the problem , apparently there is a button that turns off ELS  i must have accidently hit it not knowing.  the button is  " SCRLK "  i was so annoyedfor days ...  i finally noticed small red print at the bottom of my screen that said ELS is turned off .  why would that even be an option?   lol
