Suggestions for POV lights?

Before I suggest anything, make sure your 100% positive about the lights you can put on your truck. I know around here they only allow them in the grill and no where else. Being caught with lights in the wrong place can get you arrested and your vehicle auction off or destroyed!  Another thing know your limits on what you can do with the lights, once again around here you can't go through red lights and you can only go 10 over the speed limit. When responding to a fire call and what not. Anyways... I would just go with one of these http://www.extremetacticaldynamics.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=126&osCsid=tra9mmk2apj62ve8602l98spo0 or get some grill lights and dash lights and maybe some mirror lights if you want....

Also last thing i'm pretty sure you need to be 18 years of age to be able to do that..... Most fire department policy's {actually I think its a nation thing} is that you need to be 18 years of age to be able to do what you want to do...

Ive done my research on the laws... Everything here is legal. As stated before, the police in my town treat us volunteers as emergency respondingds, and "allow" (allow meaning 'basically dont give a shit') us to do what, say, a police officer can do. and next year I will be 18, please dont jump to conclusions.

^^ uummm i think not

around montgomery county policy is that as long as you have atleast a driving permit your allowed to operate company equipment, ie firetrucks, ambulances and tillers with proper training, as far as pov lighting i'm pretty sure that vary's state to state but one thing that im sure of is if your allowed to be on vol company then your allowed to do most if not everything regardless of age.

Montgomery county in what state? And all states require an EVOC in order to drive emergency vehicles, and you can only take EVOC when you're 18.

I just bought a Whelen Dual Avenger for my POV. Highly recommended. Probably the brightest dashlight I've ever had and or seen. Also, if you looking for lightbars, elightbars.org has some really nice

A State Trooper can't do anything more than any other county or township police officer would do. Unless you are running colors that are illegal, or illegally placed ( Example: Blue/Red in the front)

montgomery county maryland

i've read the policy from them in which nearly every station is a volly station and it says that as long as you have your drivers permit and are allowed by supervisor to drive company equipment then your allowed to.

i also really wouldnt see how evoc training would be of any use to a fd personnel

What ever you do...do not go with STL. Cheapest POSes there is. I am also a firefighter. On my Ram I have the following setup:

front

Whelen Slimmiser

Rontan Quasar strobe LEDs in front corners

rear

2 AWL Intimidators up high in the back glass

1 Dual Talon centered on lower back glass

Rontan Quasar strobe LEDs in rear tail lights, reverse lights, and cargo lights

If you need suggestions on lighting I would suggest signing up on elightbars.org . The guys there are very knowledgeable and helpful.

Unless you are running colors that are illegal, or illegally placed ( Example: Blue/Red in the front) thats a different story, but violation displaying emergency lights without a permit usually results in a fine and or termination of your illegal eqiupment. As long as you belong to a department and your not some random civilian posing to being someone important , the cops wont really bother with you. We can run blue/blue or blue/white in the front blue/red on the side and or back if we wish to do so.

As for displaying lights, you need to be 18. However, as long as you aren't using them under 18, I don't see the problem installing them in advance.

Thanks you. Finally someone with some common sense. And im not gonna be installing the just yet. I just wanna know what Im getting ahead of time, that way before I buy the tacoma, i can order them in time to get them shipped around the time when i buy it.

Come to Canada, RCMP will respond at the THOUGHT of someone impersonating a government official, happens all the time here in Cole Harbour, NS, young kids ruin it for everyone.

Even if the county lets you drive the vehicle, the key phrase is "with your supervisor's approval". Your supervisor could require whatever they want before giving you approval.
