Default police vehicles in traffic/backup??

Featured Replies

I deleted most of the default police vehicles I could find but I still have an Impaler, Dorado and another default vehicle that is spawning in traffic and as backup/at the PD's. All of my vehicles in the Emergency tab on my trainer spawn fine, just have defaults in traffic and as backup. I found one of the vehicles in the mp2024_01 folder and tried to delete it in OpenIV and got a "SYS_ERROR_00000005" unable to delete.  Any suggestions on what to do now?

Do you use a custom agency.xml file? The new DLC cars were added to the default agency.xml file in GTA V/lspdfr/data.

Just searched it in open iv and I only have one agency.xml in the gtav/lspdfr/data. I attached a screenshot, I take it once I change these values to my replacement police, police2 and police3 it'll work? Any other steps to take?

Copy the agency.xml to the custom folder and make edits to that one. Any file in the custom folder will override the default file in the parent folder. You don't need to change those values, just delete those 4 lines entirely. The police1,2 & 3 values are already there above the lines you circled.

edit: you don't need openiv to change these. just go straight to the lspdfr folder in your main GTA V directory.

edit2: also note that those cars are listed throughout the agency.xml file in other places as they are assigned to different agencies. You'll need to edit each agency to make sure they don't spawn in other places like the sheriffs dept.

Awesome, thank you. By custom folder do you mean my mods folder? I don't have a folder named custom or any folder that ive ever considered custom just that mods folder. Anyway you could tell me the exact pathway to copy the agency.xml to? I don't wanna put it in the wrong place lol

No not your mods folder, there should be folder named custom in the lspdfr/data folder by default. If not then just create it and place your edited version of agency.xml there. be sure to leave the unedited version in the data folder as a backup.

Okay sounds good, in the data I have a folder called "ai" and then the agency xml and a bunch of other xml's (regions, backup) so I'll create a custom folder. I appreciate your help and fast response.

If I remember correctly, custom files have to be named filetype_suffix.xml. Where suffix can be anything, and filetype is the type of file you're overriding.

So for example, agency_alphabreen.xml.

Cyan posted this in another thread earlier today. Try renaming the agency file in the custom folder.

You could also try removing the latest R* DLC from the dlclist.xml so those new police vehicles won't be able to spawn in at all. Unfortunately you would also lose access to the non police vehicles in that update too.

Renaming the agency file appears to have worked. Thank you for the help and @Cyan as well for posting that.
