If you’re using Thero’s pack, siren limiter isn’t necessary.  ELS doesn’t need it either.

 

You’ll want to add EUP Ultimate Edition in order to get the most out of that pack.

 

If you need, I can share some examples of xml configurations to get the vehicles and agencies working correctly.  Haven’t quite figured out how to implement the smaller agencies like Sandy Shores and Paleto yet though.

This part isn't needed, fortunately. Thero has his configured to still replace the in-game vehicles, while a lot of other creators don't. Though I appreciate you clarifying on the SSLA part 🙂

Interesting.  Most of his vehicles would not spawn in their correct regions for me without EUP UE and editing of its respective xmls.  LSPD units spawning in Blaine County/Blaine County vehicles in Los Santos County/City for example. I thought it was due to the pack adding vehicles beyond the range of the default ones?  For example Police 6-8, all of the Blaine County vehicles, SAHP non-motor units, Los Santos International Airport units.

 

 I’m still learning myself, so I apologize if I’ve referenced bad information.

Thank you for trying to help bud that is amazing of you. so I deleted that pack because I thought it maybe was to big and caused game to crash and my hunch was right I deleted the files of the pack and game starts right back up no problem. so Simply put I am going to look for a vehicle or 2 singles that are els so they arent huge and dont crash the game as I am playing on my macbook pro which yes does have an updated graphics card and 1TB of mem and stuff but was just too much. so back to the drawing boad on vehicles. trial and error right im trying to learn so at least I know next time.

That is unfortunate to hear. I did read over the comments on the pack you said you were downloading and there was something wrong with the files that were included with it. I haven't been able to test it myself as I just have not downloaded it yet. I would suggest downloading the earlier version and see if it does anything different. If you do this, you do not need another dlclist.xml entry.

 

If you are now installing replace files, you have a variety of slots to be using. Vehicles should be installed to the latest patchday, but I will give you the patchday pathway I use.

 

 mods -> update -> x64 -> dlcpacks -> patchday22ng -> dlc.rpf -> x64 -> levels -> gta5 -> vehicles.rpf

 

If you go on to download addon files, it is the same method as the one you pleased to download, just take the folder name that contains the dlc.rpf of the download and place it in the dlcpacks folder, and copy that name as a new entry. (Folder name will replace the statecars text for example)

so I just did 3 single vehicles and doing them as add-ons but I cannot seem to find the baller audioNameHash as it should be written line wise to replace my f150 because as it sits it will have no sound he says (on youtube) lol but ill do this one and see if it works and if so great ill do the other 2 if not im going to take the computer to a shooting range and empty ar clips into it... lol

okay.... So. I got the f150 to load in, ELS controller wont pop up and emergency lights/siren will not work even with the "M" menu?

The light bars on all 4 sides (unmarked) look odd. one module on each side has one red module while the rest are clear. If that helps to determine what ive done wrong on the install.

I assume you mean they look dim. Go into your GTA display settings and open the graphics tab. Change Post FX and Shader Quality to at least high.

ELS uses the J key to turn on the lights. Depending on the vehicle, you may need to hit it 3 times to get the lights to full stage. Your sirens will then be numbers 1-3 (sometimes 4 depending on the car again) when you are in the full stage 3 lighting.

For this, find the vehicles.meta in mods -> update -> update.rpf -> common -> data -> levels -> gta5, right click and click edit. From here, hit CTRL+F and type in the name of vehicle slot you wish to change the audio of (police2 as an example) scroll until you find AudioNameHash and change whatever the value is to baller between the >< tags.

No lighting at all was showing up so I tried to redownload ELS and 2 more single add on vehicles and right as soon as I click to load the game with RAGE it crashes.... I give up. Defeated. I wish there was a way someone could remote tie in and look at these files it shouldnt be this difficult I dont understand. Thank you all for all your help we tried. see yall later 🙂

If you’re interested, the problem with Thero’s pack seems to be that the carcols.meta included is blank, so it must be excluded.  I followed the install instructions from the video on the mod page (which is a bit different from the usual method) and it works excellent, though I may make a tutorial myself as the narration is a bit unorganized.

 

 Definitely make backups of your GTA V directory as you go.  I’ve made a habit of only installing one or two mods at a time, testing them, then copying my directory and labeling it “Stable” with the date.  Anything goes wrong after an install, just revert back to the stable build.  Saves a lot of headaches, especially after hours of modifying xmls.

 

 I’m kinda surprised you’ve gotten this far.  I wouldn’t have thought the game would run on a Mac as they aren’t typically suited for gaming.

 

Left Control + P is the default to bring up the ELS interface display.

That’s unfortunate.  It’s definitely more difficult to mod than say a Bethesda game, but there’s a certain rewarding feel to it once you understand and things start working smoothly.
