A new Vice City with the everglades (still in the 80's decade of course) would be awesome for me.

 

Or as it was said before, a more "rural" map with little towns and huge plains and valleys/mountains.

I like the big cities like LC or LS but in GTA IV I'm quite bored with the buildings.

I really like this idea!

The States or Canada, and I would really like to see a country area with a large freeway system. Maybe like the original GTA SA, with 3 Large cities and highways connecting them, but the country area being over 70% of the map instead of 50/50.

 

One old idea from gtaforums I liked was a Midwest GTA, with cities based off Green Bay, Chicago and Detroit.

 

It would be better if you could go into all the buildings. But I dont think delevopers would wanna take a whole bunch of extra time to do something that large.

Somewhere in Canada would be cool it is always in the States so to bring it up North would be pretty awesome.

I think it would be interesting to place it in a snowy region. If you placed GTA in Canada it wouldn't fit in just right... would you have everyone saying Ehy!?!

You could make mountain regions like they have in British Columbia plus there are major cities like Vancouver and other cities around there. Plus you say it would not fit but Canada and the United States are very similar so I don't know how it would not fit you have the big cities, we drive the same cars, the police cars are the same. The only difference apparently is we say eh.

I like the Moutainous reagion idea.

What if entire regions/states such as Western New York or Pennsylvania were done... to scale, and with the same road/highway layouts?

I think that Detroit would be cool, and very fitting with the amount of crime that happens...

 

Boston would also be awesome, so would Chicago or basically any of the other big cities.  I could see Chicago happening with its history of organized crime.
