The "Dodo" almost made it..

Featured Replies

So I got a little bored recently and decided to have a little read up of beta vehicles in GTA games..

I noticed that this was once in the beta of GTA IV, along with the shamal;

Reading further down, I also noticed that;

The Dodo was meant to appear in GTA IV, because of the handling line being still in the game's files

There's two possible reason's why this was cut;

  • Liberty City is not as big as previous GTA's, hence there's no need for planes
  • September 11 attacks on NYC. LC is based on NY

What I'm curious about is, by looking at the above photo and using the handling line for the vehicle in the handling.dat file, is it possible to re-create this vehicle?

There are also handling lines for the Shamal and "The Fighter" which is presumably a upgraded Hydra and the Andromada

Thoughts?

Would be nice if it'd actually made it into the game

Its entirely possible to put it back in, the handling's there.. you'd just have to make a collision file and the actual plane itself by going off that picture.

All you need is a modder who's willing to do it
