UNHANDLED EXCEPTION DURING GAME FIBER TICK

Featured Replies

Just reinstalled and keep getting this error when I go on duty and the plugins load. The game freezes and I literally can not do anything except open the map and quit the game. Help would be appreciated.RagePluginHook.log

Hey first of all please try to run RPH with administrator privileges. If that doesn't work make sure that no anti-virus blocks RPH or gta.

Thanks for the answer, I am running RPH with admin privileges and I've turned off all antivirus, so it must not be that.

ok, you solved one problem, now you have another.

this time its a problem with access permission.

try to start rph as an administrator.

or:

first, add your whole gta folder as an exception in your antivirus and default windows antivirus: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/add-an-exclusion-to-windows-security-811816c0-4dfd-af4a-47e4-c301afe13b26

also disable geforce overlay, it may cause issues.

otherwise do the steps on page 4 on the faq: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Hp2Qco0qsgKfohkhjYWUxTr2OF7NSCkp8uSZwWz6rRQ/edit

Thanks for the suggestions, unfortunately none of those worked, should I reinstall?

The error you received is LSPDFR crashing trying to load assets that should be there. I've never seen this issue occur where the mods folder is not the cause. Rename your mods folder to _mods to see if it still occurs. You probably made a change to it recently that you didn't test to see was valid.

can you confirm exactly what your issue is now?

My game is crashing when loading the LSPDFR plugin. I tried manually loading it in the RPH console but that still crashes.

Hey, so renaming the mods folder worked, it must've been a change I made there. You suggest I just overwrite my molds folder with a fresh one?

Hey,

Yes you should delete the mods folder and maybe reinstall everything step by step to find the cause of the problem.

Also after each change make a backup of the mods folder, or you'll need to install everything again 🙂

There is no need to make a backup of every single time you change the mods folder.
Simply test the game each time confirm everything is working. If it stops working all you would need to do is uninstall the last thing you installed. No need to make it more complicated.

So and what if your new mod replaces an existing modified file? Or if you use an .oiv installer and you don't know how to check which files have been modified?

1. Except for EUP I always advise against using OIVs but it is pretty easy to open up an OIV with a zipping program and see what it edits
2. Whilst obviously best case scenario is that you have a backed up version of every single state and change of your game/mods its simply not realistic. Most people are dealing with limited space and cannot afford to have multiple copies of their mods folders for a lot even just the technical aspect of making/restoring backups is not realistic. So whilst your advice is good in theory in practice its not really. Best to just test between each new installation.
p.s. in regards to modified files you shouldn't be replacing the whole file with the new one. because if you do then you are disregarding any previous modifications either way.

Wait...You're telling me that the technical aspects of backups is not realistic? Don't want to insult you but that is bullshit. Backups do save a lot of time in case of errors related to windows and human actions. Many companies would be screwed without backups and even private persons should make backups of their files depending on the importance. Also the average player isn't even able to install things properly so they will have hard times reverting those changes. Limited disk space is a factor yes but you can also use 50GB of google drive for free as example and if you don't have 4K textures/models installed it shouldn't take much space and if you're able to use many 4K textures/models you should also be able to make backups...To your first point: Many players do ask for .oiv installers since the manual installation is too complex for them and that's okay that's why the installers do exist, to make it easy. And about your p.s of course it should be obvious to not replace an existing modified file but still many users do that and face issues after that.
