Is LCPDFR still being developed or is it dead? (Also some recommendations)

Featured Replies

It would be very sad if this mod was dead. It is a great mod for a great game!

If this mod is dead, is LCPDFR open source? So that other people can continue it?

For example, you could implement NativeUI IV in to LCPDFR that would be a very nice feature and the actions are much better available.

I would apprechiate it if someone can tell me if this mod is dead and or if it's open source 🙂

  • Thanks for your patience! I think we are at a point where I am happy to consider open sourcing LCPDFR. There are a few caveats, however, mostly due to licensing and how the project is associated with

Too bad 😕

But thanks for your answer!

Maybe think about it, there is still an active GTA IV Community and it would be great if the Community could develop it even further.

I understand that and it has been on my mind a few times, but I haven't gotten to cleaning up the source and putting it up so far. Maybe one day 🙂

Hello it's me again with my predictable question: Are there any news on the source code of LCPDFR? 🙂

I think this would also not only be good to create a Community version of LCPDFR, but also to help the small remaining modding Community of GTA IV how things are done in LCPDFR like implementing a plugins system and stuff like that!

If there are any updates, please let me know 🙂

Thanks!

Hello, i wanted to get back to this. There is no need to clean up the source code because if it's Open Source, the community would clean it up anyway 🙂

And of course, if there are any updates, please let me know 🙂

As Andre said you don't have to clean it up. An open source version of LCPDFR would be an amazing thing for the community considering how important this mod is to GTA IV and how much new updates could really improve it.

If you make it open source you don't have to find time to do it yourself you could pass it on to the community and another group of people.

I support the option to bring back LCPDFR,if you still currently do not have the time to work on it,as others mentioned we are willing to work/clean up the source code

I feel like some new features can be added to it this way and some bugs can be fixed also. Open source should be a go.

I've just read the conversation. I totally agree. LCPDFR should definitely be open-source to let the community improve the mod. Speaking of some other reasons to make it open-source, GTA IV community is actually enormous and actively growing. I keep seeing people trying to play LCPDFR. Some can play, some run into issues which need to be fixed. Since there are people willing to help with those (such as the OP), why not just make it open-source?

Someone needs to host the source on GitHub for pull requests 'n stuff though if you're going to make it open-source, it would be hard to find one who you can trust and is willing to continue development of LCPDFR.

I'm gonna jump on this and say I recently got back into IV and would love to see the revival of this mod. I fully support going forward to bringing LCPDFR to Open-Source

@LMS Hello again, i would like to ask if there are any updates on this? I would really enjoy working on LCPDFR and bringing out new stuff for the LCPDFR Community!

As we said above, it's really not necessary to clean up the source code i (or any other person if it gets published on github) can take care of it. So you also don't have the stress to cleanup the source just for me, or for the publication of the source code to github. All good 🙂
