Question about OpenIV

Featured Replies

I've googled my question and haven't found any discussion on it. What I'm wondering is if Open IV allows you to change weapon gunshot sounds and possibly siren sounds. I'm not too caring about siren sounds but would like to change the sounds of gunfire. If anyone uses Open IV and knows about these and have tried it, and whether or not it works. And if it does work, if it crashes a lot. Thank you.

Yes. I recently used it to change my weapon sounds to max payne 3 weapon sounds. Just download any custom sound mod and follow the directions that they come with. It involves going to pc\audio\sfx rather than pc\models\cdimages

Awesome thank you :) I'm going to make a backup copy just in case :)

Yeah, OpenIV works fine for me except with sound mods. SparkIV works just fine for importing ivauds, though. There's also another program used to edit sounds, but I can't think of it off the top of my head.

Ok issue. The mods I get is WEAPONS.ivaud with realistic weapon sounds and when I import it, I get this

See how the ivaud is different from the others? I tried it out and it doesn't change the sound of the gunfire. What do i need to do?

Just hit 'Rebuild' and see if it works once it's finished.

I have always been told that you should only change sounds with sparkIV, not sure if it's true.
