I think it's not a bad idea to have latest comments first by default and an option to sort oldest first. Personally I hate seeing newest first, since reading the response to something first and not understand the context is annoying. However, I can see the benefits of seeing latest comments first when just wanting to download the mod since something from 2 years ago isn't relevant anymore. I feel like, in most cases, if the newest post at the top doesn't have the context you need, you would just scroll down a few posts to get the context. Instead of having to go all the way to the bottom or last page and then scroll up to find the context, it is served to you near the top on a hot steamy platter.

this is a really cool idea, i know that when somebody comments on my mods i have scroll down and change pages. This feature would also help on support forms by getting people help faster. For say if somebody uploaded their RAGE log and you don't want to go and find it, it will always be at the top.

I've just deployed some changes today, there is now a 'Newest' button on file comments. You can use this to see the newest comments sorted first.

We might make this a default in the future, but from today it is at least now an option.
